I went to another Gamestop today to buy Polarium and just when I was about to leave I saw a used copy of Castle Shikigami, and it was brand new. So I bought it, 9.99 normally, 8.49 after discount, I am happy! Almost as good as my Fire Emblem deal earlier...

Sorry, bud, it's gotta be one or the other. ;) That's the new price, so I'm assuming that's what you got, right?

yeah yeah, it was used, but the seal was still on and the disc is flawless...

i realize that its not an expensive game other places, however its not one that i see in stores ever, so i was elated, hence the thread

You mean they resealed it?

I think he means it was still factory sealed, but sold at the preplayed price?

Or it could be a situation like EB does sometimes, with games like Cudicept. We receive brand new games, with no shrinkwrap but security seal intact, but they are sold as preplayed.

Or maybe someone bought it cheap at a TRU clearance and bought it solely to sell during a trade in promotion and never bothered to open it... ... Nah, that sounds just too crazy...

Gamestop would have opened it themselves if someone traded it in.

I've taken in sealed games to Gamestop before, and they always tell me that "we have to open them to check the contents and give you a used price for it... is that ok?"

Thats what theyre SUPPOSED to do... they're also not supposed to sell used games as new...

SO places actually open new games and put them in the used section.

TRU doesn't carry that game.

if someone trades in a sealed game and there is no other copies of it in the store, yes

^___^

isn't it great???! :)

yes, GS seems to have found some in a wherehouse, I got a call from someone at another of our stores about getting it in his, and then shortly there after I got two or three in at my store too, it's "refurbished", which is to say it is one of those cases where it is a brand new never played copy of the game (you can tell this btw, if the back sticker is marked with a large R).

good stuff.

One came into the store I work at about a month ago, too. We do get "used" games in shipments sometimes, where the seals are still intact, and the only thing missing is the outer shrinkwrap. Heck, awesomely enough, a copy of ICO like that came in the same box. Ended up buying a used Midnight Club 3 for my bf's birthday along with them. At the time, we had the B2G1 sale, so ended up getting Castle Shikigami 2 for free. :)
