for anyone that has played the GBA versions, which one is better?

I only ask because both are the same price used at EB, and sometimes sequels are not as good as the original versions.

They are both nearly identical from what I can tell. I think with 2 you have to go through and unlock the wrestlers one at a time, whereas in 1 you unlock them in batches (or they are all unlocked to begin with).

I bought 2 used from EB online a while back. Popped it in and found that the previous owner had unlocked everything (I believe there is a code to do it as well). I was disappointed when it looked and played just like the first one.

edit: I should mention that some of the wrestlers are different between the two versions, but since it's not a licensed game, it doesn't make much difference. They both give you a ton of slots to make your own guys, so if there's someone you want to put it, I'm sure someone else has already made them and posted the directions on how to do it on one of the many FPW sites.

Thanks for the help. I decided to go ahead and order the second one seeing as Wrestlemania: The Arcade game was in stock for .99 cents as well

It's too bad we didn't get the Japanese version of what eventually became our FPW2. It had a league/company management mode that was supposed to be awesome. Most of the favorable FPW2 reviews I've seen say it's the best thing ever, but it was cut from the NA release for some reason.

This is an awesome "on the toilet" game btw (I have FPW2). I can't imagine playing for much longer, cause after a few losses it gets really aggravating.

sounds great. I use my old GBA on the toilet all the time. Hell I end up playing so much that eventually my legs go all numb and I got to stand up. Right now I have been playing a lot of Wario Ware:MM (working on completing the grid) and before that I played SSFII:TR for like two years straight.

I thought double dragon was going to be a good "on the toilet" game, but after trying to complete it, its too long to beat since it takes like 30 minutes (last time I tried I ended up standing for the last few levels, just to try and beat it without the numbness):D

If there was only a way to simulate the joys of playing games on the toilet without having to use the toilet. :D

awesome. I had thought about getting the original the other day since I have some credit over at Gamestop, but after seeing they had the second one AND Wrestlemania: The arcade game in stock I could not pass it up. For 5.60 I am going to get two really awesome games.

I so can't wait to punish my friend with Scott Hall in Wrestlemania. He is going to feel the pain of the toothpick going right into his eye

Anybody remember when Scot Hall threw a toothpick at one of the guys from Public Enemy, and it got stuck in his goatee?

I had Fire Pro 1 and never played the series before so the learning curve sorta turned me off. I tried to get into it but didn't really embrace it so I traded it in after fumbling with it for awhile. I was considering ordering Fire Pro 2 this morning, do you think I could get into it anymore than the first?

The learning curve on any Fire Pro is crazy, but once you get past that it's pretty sweet.

The main difference between Fire Pro 1 and 2 is the graphics are a bit better in part 2, but are still not very good, but then, this series has never looked good on any platform. The depth is unmatched in the genre, but the learning curve is the same no matter which version you play, so if you couldn't get into 1, 2 won't be any easier, unless your patience has increased since you owned the original.

All of this Scott Hall talk reminds me of the time when my friend did a GREAT Hall impression and cut a hilarious promo.

I don't think I've ever actually lost in the GBA games...

I lose a lot, and I'm playing Normal mode! It usually depends on whether my partner comes in to help first or not, and how long theres is in between interruptions. If I can't get the pin in before the CPU's partner comes in, I'm pretty much gone. I get bored doing the same weak moves to loosen the CPU up, so I sometimes throw in a strong move in too early, setting off my downward spiral (wasn't that Jericho's move?...). How do you play it?

I think Edge use to use it as his finisher, or that might have just been in the old Wrestlemania 2000 game for N64.

Oh yeah, Edge! Haha, they both looked so similar to me, so I confused the two...

OK maybe I just suck, but I thought normal and hard were way too difficult on FPW2. I mean the matches themselves aren't so bad, it's just the way your damage carries over from match to match that kills me. You really can't afford to have a "close" match, which is a pain in the ass. After winning a match, I have to evaluate if it is worth continuing... because if I go into a match in the red I may as well just start the series over.

The game is loads of fun in exhibition matches, but the way they designed the "career" mode forces you to play in an overly careful/methodical fashion that sucks the fun out of it.

Or maybe I'm just missing something?
