Skies of Arcadia...Like a lot of RPG's its slow in the beginning but it definitly gets better. Just wait till you get the sky battles which are one of the better parts of the game.

skies of arcadia? we had a thread like this here a long time ago; somebody said it sucked after only 3 hours, and everybody else ganging up on him. Don't make the same mistake.

The dreamcast version was one of the best 2 RPGs on the system (grandia 2 was the other one) and the GC version is even better.

so your saying it will only get better as time goes on?

Skies of Arcadia is one of my favorites this generation, or all time for that matter. Yes it gets better, just give it time and take it for what it is. You'll enjoy it.

Yah, stick it out for a few more hours. Its a very fun/engrossing game. One of the few RPGs that i actually finished.

One of the few rpgs I had no problem beating, and enjoyed. Enjoyed all the little quests like extra ship mates, and things for the island you could get. Gamecube version sounded neat so definetly a stick with it. I refuse to replay a game that i've already beatem though. Only extra cut scenes can get me to do that.

It gets better, play it for at least 10 hours.

Yes, absolutely stick with skies, like a previous poster said, the ship battles are fun and make me wish there was more large-scale battle available in RPG's(I don't think Romance of the Three Kingdoms or say Suikoden are really on the same interactivity as here.)

Plus, the characters, while a little cliche, are fun. I wish they had done as good a job porting Grandia 2 to the PS2, I couldn't bring myself to finish that >.<

He's right. After you get to a certain point about 10 hours in, it really starts to pick up. When it first came out, I accidently stayed up till 5 in the morning and skipped the last couple of midterms I had. But I Vyse's story was so much more exciting than Physics and Pre-cal anyways.

Sobe bored for ten hours then happy for a little while. Waste f ten hours.

I liked the game, I love flying the boat around. But every time I get into it and start having fun a random battle comes up. It happens every ten seconds.

You aren't "wasting" 10 hours. The game is fun for the first 10, but gets really fun after that (and the game is pretty long too). Just stick with it, and you will love this game.

Lots of RPGs start out slowly. Examples: Pokémon, Kingdom Hearts. I haven't played much of Skies of Arcadia Legends myself (been playing Tales of Symphonia and Beyond Good and Evil), so I have something to look forward to as well.
BTW, you may like Tales of Symphonia as well if you find yourself enjoying Skies of Arcadia.
