OK, I did a search and looked on the first 5 pages of the deals forums and didn't see this. Scorch, if it's been posted feel free to scorch me. :)
ANyway, I figure this is a new price drop. Picked it up yesterday with a GGC and some Reward Zone bucks for $20. :D

I hope that this won't be a permanent change, but I was over at my local BB the other day and noticed that GGC's only had a $5 off $29.99 instead of the old $19.99. I think they were special PS2 and XBox editions though. Does anyone know if BB is still going to carry the $5 off $19.99 ones?

they still have the $5 off of $19.99 coupons at several stores in SoCal.

its also 29.99 at gamerush
Did they drop the used price on it as well?
Gamerush is sitting on two copies of it right now used at 32.99... it would be nice if they drop the used price to 23 - 24.

Is this worth picking up?
I too heard this is the worst in the series and I doubt it will ever be as rare as the first three Suikodens... but I'm wondering if it will drop any lower... I guess Star Ocean 2 dropped to as low as $14.99 so there's hope.
I'm tempted, even though I don't really want this game, and I just got Paper Mario and Star Ocean for $20. Will I be cheap enough to just say no? Tune in next time to find out!

That's exactly what I did! I can easily justify Suikoden IV for $20.

I loved it. A few things are wrong with it but I would say the same about a lot of games. It probably is the worst of the series but that isn't saying much in my opinion because the others are stellar. Better than most current gen RPGs at least.

The worst of the series is Suikoden 3. Suikoden 4 is worse, but not THE worst. Well, that's how old-Suikoden fans think. Casual gamers don't even care about Suikoden. I preordered this game at 39.99 with artbook and I have no regret. Would pick up a sealed copy for collection purpose whenever it's dropped to $20.

I thought Suikoden IV was a pretty good game except for the following
1) Too easy, even if it was too tedious (see below)
2) Who's idea was it to make sailing so tedious and be filled with more random encounters then one could ever have a nightmare of? The sailing was so boring, and ruined the mood of much of the game.
3) Didn't care for most of the voice acting, although there were a few exceptions. Voice acting should have been left out for the most part.
5) A certain character was unattainable by me because I waited to long, and he was probably the best character in the game to boot...
6) Battles were oversimplfied, more so then say Suikoden 1. It needed a tad more depth.
7) Nothing really beats having 6 people in the field, Suikoden IV didn't offer that
8) The original Suikodens had better castle building and sidequests that more engagement.
The rest is pretty minor, if you can get over the above It's easily worth $40. At $30 you should still grab a copy knowing the limited prints of Suikoden games (Although I think this one got a tad bit more prints).
