I've been checking and checking but no one seems to have a free subscription offer to the Offical Xbox Magazine anywhere. Can anyone out there help me in my quest??? I've already gotten my first two issues of EGM mag and was pleasantly surprised, I thought they were never going to show up, but I'm still waiting for my Stuff mag. Any help on OXM subscriptions would be great.

Free EGM in digital format. I got the link off of slickdeals.net. So I really wonder if I can change that to the print format. Have any of you managed that? I might also be getting Pop. Mechanics, Computer shopper, and this in digital format.

I signed up for three free gaming magazines in Jan/Feb and only received one of them: Computer Gaming World. (I received 2 issues the past 2 months)

I didn't receive Electronic Gaming Mag, nor GamePro magazine.
Anyone experience the same missing magazines. If I received an email from EGM, about the digital magazine stuff, then it may have gone into Junk Mail, and I probably completely missed it.

Depending on the publishing schedule of a magazine, and when you sign up, it can take anywhere from 4 weeks to 12 weeks or more to start receiving a magazine [and this goes for paid subs also]. Basically my experience has been, about the time I forgot about the magazine, I'd start getting it :)

I subscribed to a few magazines a while ago, and so far all I've got has been EGM. I've got two issues of EGM now,and all of the other magazines sent me an email saying that they recieved my subscription, and I've made sure that it was sent in on their website. The only ones that haven't recognized my subscription are Maxim and Stuff, I recieved an email saying that I had subscribed, but their customer service doesn't have me listed. Has anyone else had any problems with them?

The guy selling EGM subs on ebay is legit. He starts them at $2.99 for a 4 year sub (no shipping). I paid $4.07 (beat someone in an auction) . . . my subscription started in about a month. Good until March 2008!!!!!

Subscriptions are the least amount of money to be made for these companies giving away free subscriptions. It's all about advertising. If more people are reading their mags, they're looking at the products being offered within. If people start buying more of said products, more companies will be interested in advertising in the magazine which means more profits for the company. If magazines were the bread and butter of these magazines, there's no way they'd be able to survive on the discounted offers for subscriptions.

Still, even though I have free subs to Maxim, FHM, Stuff, Computer Gaming Monthly AND EGM, does that mean I'll be running out to get myself a bottle of Eternity for Men or the freshest, dopest pair of Ecko sneakers? Me thinks not, there's too many games to be purchased. :D

I'm having the same problem. I've tried both IE and Firefox browsers. I've looked at the HMTL source and the box is disabled but the Submit button still validates that input box. The site's contact page gives a 404 error so I guess I'll just try firing off an email to webmaster@xbox.net and see what happens.

Most of these freebies will extend your current sub, if you use the same name/address. If you start getting duplicates, just tell them that you renewed and it didn't take, they should take care of it.
Most magazines, even if you pay for them, take between 4 and 12 weeks to arrive in your mailbox, due to publishing cycles and mailing list database updates.

I doubt they'll let you sign up multiple times. Chances are, if you do, they'll remove all your subscriptions (they ARE paying for these).

Best just to do it once to avoid any risks.

As for freebizmag, they've got annoying combinations that are tough to find. I usually put it Internet>IT/IS Management>IT/IS Manager or something like that.

For anyone that has one of the free XBN subscriptions and are missing the May issue(if your subscription says May 0?), contact customer service with the provided link to tell them, since according to that you're supposed to be getting that issue.

I just received 3 issues of my free CGW subscriptions which started with a April issue(which is when my subscription started supposedly).

So XBN screwed you out of a issue.

I'd say send back the invoice with cancel marked on it. That happened a few years ago to me with EGM, but I finally got them to cancel it.

dont worry, and if youre prone to worry, than the above advice is fine for cancellation without paying, if you still want to worry after that, write up a nice letter saying you never requested their magazine, nor joined any subscription and you have no idea why they have started billing you, please stop, etc etc

Yea I got my XBN without a demo also.But free Mag is a free mag.I think that makes 6 free mags plus I get 2 copies of EMG{One that I paid 1$ an issue the other is free}.But a guy at work will trade me his new issue of Game Informer for one of my EMG.BTW if u haven't read GI yet it's got 10 pages of covering for the new GTA which I haven't seen any other Mag I get.Yet I get XBN and OXM{both without demo's,I also don't think XBN has a demo because on the Sub. cards in it there's not an option to purchase with demo as ALL OXM cards have the demo} and both cover where all 50 scarabs are on NG.

Xbox Nation doesn't include a demo disc in their magazine. Your talking about the Official Xbox Magazine... which tends to run out FAST when it comes to a free subscription.

You'll soon get the July issue too, since it hits news stands June 1. Also go to the Ziff Davis customer service site and notify them if your subscription says April and whatever year, since you were supposed to get the April issue too. I'm doing that with XBN too, since my subscription started with the May issue, but I never received that.

Not free, but cheap . . . I got Official Xbox for $3.50 / year (a special at some web site . . . might be able to find it if you want to PM me) then I called and "upgraded" to add the demo disc for $1 per issue. So, for $15.50 I got the mag with demos. I did sign up for a free sub for OXB but it never started :(

If the free one does start it could be an add on to my current. But the demo disc version is never offered as a freebie and sells for $25.

I don't know if you guys know this. Any digital sub. can be changed to print without a phone call. Just go to the custermer service pages posted above and log in, the click on other and just type that you want to change it and that it.

For missing issues, go to the Customer Service part of the site, there should be an option to report missing issues.

I got my first XBN issue today(finally!) but the weird thing is that I'm still not in their database*confused*. Anyways, do you guys know the phone number to change your address? I will be moving in a couple of days so I'd like them to send my mags to the new address.

Phone customer service is (800) 365-4093. However, if you find yourself in their database before you move, there's the option there to change your address.

Make sure you check you're typing in your info correctly. You should be in their database if they've sent mags to you.

Cause I got my first issue, it didn't have the cd, I wrote to them and they said the subscription was offered by a "subscription agency" and they did not offer the cd-rom. The link clearly states the cd-rom comes with the deal. Anyone else have this problem or did anyone get the demo cd with this deal?

You would think they would change their site so it didn't clearly state that you get the cd's with the offer. I understand mistakes happen but to leave the ad up for several months knowing that its incorrect is ridiculous. I politely wrote to some admin on xbox.net's site asking about the situation and he rudely replied passing the buck off to someone else and saying that anyone that questions this is harassing them. What a jerk! I guess it takes all kinds though. This is a great way for Computer Gaming Monthly to get positive publicity though huh? lol
