Okay, I am moving in to a new place and my buddy and I are sharing a comcast cable connection. He has a Microsoft 802.11B/G wireless router. This will hook directly in to a ps2, an xbox, and a pc in the game room. He also has a laptop that has a G wireless card that currently is the only thing that picks up the wireless signal of the router. However, I need to connect to the router from my room on the other side of the house. I have a pc, ps2, and an xbox.

So, here is what I was going to do...
Thinking about buying a wireless adaptor (external with one ethernet port) and then hooking that to my old Linksys wired router. I would then run the router to my two consoles and pc. Will that work okay? Can I have too many routers? I realize run all this stuff at the same time will bog down the connection but, in reality, we would only be using two machines at a time. I just want them all hooked up as not to fuss with the cables everytime I switch between game machines. Yeah?

I'm not sure I'm understanding this, but instead of a buying a wireless adapter that pretty much transmits whats on your wired router, why don't you just get a wireless router and hardwire your consoles and computer to it and just have it wirelessly link up with the serving router? I think that would be easier.

So, you are saying I can use two wireless routers? I can use one to connect to the other? I didn't think I could do that, hence the adaptor.

I'd say find a cheap hub/switch. I did router behind a router for a while and its a pain in the ass and doesn't work properly all the time. Also, I'd just buy cat5 instead of the wireless adapter. Most likely cheaper, and doesn't drop signals like wireless will do on occasion.

I have to go wireless since I'm so far away and have no way of hiding the cables without cutting the floor up. I only thought of the router behind router because I have a router sitting here that I have no use for. I will probably just get a network adaptor (bridge) and a hub like you suggested. Probably the best solution for my situation.

Router to router is easy as pie if you hardwire and use the uplink. I'm not so sure wirelessly, but I don't see why it wouldn't work fine.
