I hate to see the look on the buyer's face when they open the box and realize what they bought.

What a tool! Well I mean those boxes do cost quite a bit...there is actually no way to spin that to justify such a purchase.

Did you notice the high bidder has -1 feedback?

Yes, I think it's an account to mess with sellers like this, although the auction title and discription is clearly labeled and the seller has 100% feedback.

which likely means they won't pay for it anyway....

I do not understand why buy a box for something like that. I could see if it was rare or something but that is not.

Hah hah, the last guy must have noticed and retracted his bid. Before it was up to more than $40.

Yes, I think it's an account to mess with bastards like this.
Yeah that's what I meant. The seller deserves it.

Not really. If someone bought a used DS and wanted to make it complete for collection purposes, I could see them bidding on this auction.

Why? The auction doesn't seem misleading at all. Right in the title it says box only and then the seller even stated 5 days ago again it's for the box only.
I think it's different that those other auctions where the seller intentionally misleads the buyer to think it's a system.

Not really. If someone bought a used DS and wanted to make it complete for collection purposes, I could see them bidding on this auction.
If that's the case, I'd be more than willing to sell someone my cardboard DS box for $30.

I would too, years ago I sold my Saturn box on EBay for $10 plus shipping. Before I sent it out, I sent the buyer another e-mail to let them know again it wasn't the system as well just to be safe.

Pitty the naive bidder who reads title as "Nintendo DS-US Version Box....Only w/ Metroid Prime Demo"

Okay, I have a mint Xbox box and an Indigo Gamecube box that I'm willing to let go for $50 shipped. C'mon guys, you just know you've been needing an extra Xbox and Cube box to complete that collection of yours.
Hell, maybe I can sell them to the psycho ebay mom.

Actually, I need a jet black GameCube box. Not for $50 though. ;)

I imagine this was simply a case of someone bidding by looking at the picture instead of reading, unless the seller is cool and lets it go I doubt it will end well for the buyer.

To the seller's credit, he did specifically say twice in the description the auction is just for the box and the system.

I got a black gamecube box, you really interested?
soulwish2003

Yeah, not the sellers problem at all. The buyer just bought a box and a demo game... and hey, maybe that is what they wanted.

Does anyone remember from the Christmas when PS2 was sold out and someone sold their PS2 box on eBay to some lady for $300?
Ya, it happens. Yeesh! I should sell "Socks not Game Worn by Michael Jordan". Yippee!

there is nothing wrong with this auction
i have purchased empty system boxes off of ebay before (being the collector i am)...i mean, i know how to read, so that probably helps, and yes, the $46 is a little high for a box, but, it does include the demo that only came with the system, and maybe the person really wanted the box + demo

I dunno...he lists the specs of a DS....why do that if you are only selling the box? I'd put a buck down that if the buyer wasn't reading it correctly, they could get out of it because he listed specs of a system that he isn't selling...

It was $400, and I think she didn't get her money back, from what I remember hearing about that situation.
My only problem with it would be the seller listed it in 'Systems' when they aren't selling a system and they included the specs of the DS. I don't think the box has '2D/3D graphics acceleration' for example.
But the title clearly says 'Box Only'. Not much room to really complain on this one.
