Here's the entertainment software listings from the Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW), Houston (HOU), Chicago (IL), Los Angeles/Orange County (LA), San Jose/Silicon Valley (SJ), and Washington state (WA) Fry's Ad(s). These prices are valid only for the dates listed in the subject line.

The items listed below are as they appear in the Fry's Ads. If an item is listed as "SJ only", for example, it could still be on sale at other locations (i.e. - Austin, Sacramento, San Diego, AZ, GA, IN, NV, OR), but it only appeared in the SJ ad. However, since these ads are not available online, I cannot confirm them.

If anyone knows of a website to view any further ads, please let me know.

Unless otherwise indicated, items below are listed in all six (DFW, HOU, IL, LA, SJ, and WA) ads.

If it's "updated daily".. why not edit the original post..

- It is updated daily during the period in which it applies.

- The original post would have been about 2 years ago.

- Subject lines of the original post do not always update.

- Some people want to know what they just missed the day before and this way, a new post covers the new sale without overwriting the items that were previously discussed.

- Sale items change twice weekly...what's the point in keeping 2 years worth of people's responses for sale items which aren't even on sale anymore?

All confirmed for Las Vegas via Fry's newspaper ad. Thanks Fido!

I was just going to say that. Also, VegasRobb and the other Vegas people, from my experience with the Fry's deals and posting, most of the deals that are given also apply to us and 98% of the time the cheaper of the deals (i.e. if Houston has something for 39.99 and SJ has it for $34.99, we tend to get the $34.99 price point.). Just letting all you guys know and keep you up on the deals. Also, great for the confirmation as I don't have my paper that I get today yet, and that confirming them is always helpful no matter what.

I think I might get Metal Slug 4 and 5. Is there only going to be a PS2 version of the game? If there's an Xbox version that I might as well just hold out for that version then.

Also, thanks for your great postings every week. You do us all a great service and I for one greatly greatly appreciate them.

fido, there's no need for you to explain yourself. The way you do things is perfectly fine in my book and I have never seen any error that they might interfere or cause some wrong to this site or Cheapy. Also, I like the way you do things. It's clear and easy to see, read, and find your games and the daily updates are great since sometimes you don't have a lot of time and you just have to be quick to see what's new. Keep up the good work man.

Is the Getaway: BM a price-drop or something? Is it worth picking up for $20?

My guess is that it is going to have a universal price drop very soon. Usually, Fry's tends to be ahead of other retailers and will have it for $20 and than few weeks later you'll see the game for $20 everywhere. That's what happened with Def Jam 2 and the other EA games, and then they had it on sale again for $14.99. Might be worth just to wait it out and then get it at BB after GGC for $14.99. Also, from most reviews and other users, The Getaway: BM is far worse than the first.

Woo! $19.99 (PS2): Musashi: Samurai Legend is finally 19.99. That didn't take it long at all. probably one of the quickest Square price drops I've ever seen. I've gotten nearly every Square game from Fry's for either 14.99-19.99 and i won't disappoint this time. Besides I have to go there anyway to exchange my Star Ocean that I bought a few weeks ago since I finally got to opening it and it doesn't work and looks like it's been open before since the manual was heavily torn in the corners.

Alright, looks like I'm gonna be grabbing Musashi. Donkey Konga 2 for $25 again is tempting, but that songlist isn't very appealing and makes me think I should just wait it out. Another question for those Vegas CAGs that have gone to Fry's or have the Fry's ads as I haven't recieved my newspaper this week, is the AMS VENUS 5.25" USB2.0 Enclosure in our ads? This is an enclosure that I have been looking at for a while now at newegg, abd it is normally 34.99 so getting it for 19.99 after a $15 rebate is great. This would really help me with my External DVD burner that I'm making.

Memorial Day sale is kind of disappointing.

EDIT:

just the LOtR: FotR giftset is on sale or are the other ones on sale also?

My ad only lists Fellowship as the sale item, but the ad lists TT and RotK as "Also Available". YMMV, but I would assume that TT and RotK are also on sale today. It seems to be arguable that all three are on sale.

If I had a Fry's I'd jump onto Forza, Advent Rising, and Unreal 2... Maybe it's for the best, so I can save $100, heh.

Nothing really for a Memorial Sale, especially from Fry's, but have any Vegas CAGs gone to Fry's or have gotten the paper because I still might be able to make it to my Fry's if they can confirm any of my questions from the last page.

Well, I can confirm that Musashi: Samurai Legend was indeed 19.99 at the Vegas Fry's since I got BB to PM it by calling them up. I swear, the G-ds must have been smiling on me since BB actually did and this was even with me going to the cashier lady that I can't stand that never likes to help me. I didn't get the extra 10% like they owed me, but I don't care I actually got them to PM and 19.99 is a great price for Square games IMO (with the exception of Unlimited SaGa).

Didn't get in on Dark Cloud 2 being $14.99 since my BB didn't have any, but here's to Fry's having it for 14.99 again in the near future.

This is an enclosure that I have been looking at for a while now at newegg, abd it is normally 34.99 so getting it for 19.99 after a $15 rebate is great.Sorry, I don't have the paper, but I just wanted to say that I've had horrible experiences with Fry's and their rebates. I've sent out numerous ones, and never got any of them back.

Now as these are rebates, I of course haven't gotten a 100% of them back but i would say I've gotten 70-80% of my rebates back from them so I think they're pretty good.
