Best free or cheap multiplayer online games?

I love Wolfenstein Enemy Territory, but I am looking for something different. I'd like to try some free ones. Preferably something where there is a hide and seek with weaponry.....you know what I mean. But it doesn't have to be.

Gunbound held my attention for about 2 weeks. The erratic lag and community (in that 90% only speak Spanish, are annoying, or both) really turned me off...Otherwise it seems like a real addictive and fun game (and free to boot).

Ragnarok Online now has a free server: http://iro.ragnarokonline.com It's an MMORPG, but not to my taste.

Anarchy Online is another free MMORPG. http://www.anarchy-online.com Didn't try this one yet, but it's pretty well respected. Only the basic game is free, though. You have to pay if you want access to the expansions.

Gunbound, Guild Wars, and Diablo 2 are all fun games. I absolutely refuse to pay a ridiculous monthly fee to play ONE game. Something like XBox Live I'm comfortable investing in, but I'm not spending 15 bucks a month for WoW.

I used to play Infantry (http://infantry.station.sony.com/en/main.jsp) online a bit back when it was free. Now that Sony got their mits on it, it's $7/month.

Subspace (http://sshq.forumhq.net/whatis.php) is a fun overhead free-raoming multiplayer online space shooter.

Diablo 2 is really fun game. It's a few years old game. When the game first came out, I remember playing long hours searching for those unique items. The rarest item I found is windforce. Still proud of finding it.
