Hi folks, been dying to play my NTSC Japanese import of Samurai Showdown IV. Not a modchip fan, so I got MagicSwap 3.6. I know how to use it, but since SSIV is for the Japanese PS1, I get "Not a valid PS2 disc" message.

Anyone know what software/mod I can use on my old (non-slim) PS2 to play a Japanese PS1 import? Any help would be appreciated.

Until then, I'll keep playing Stronghold 2.

You'll need Breaker-Pro to play PS1 imports.

You might be interested in an item I am selling (see sig for my fire sale). It's a region boot disc that allows you to play (LEGIT) import games on a PS1 without modding. I know you were asking for a non-modchip PS2 solution but who doesn't have a PS1 these days?

I have never owned a PS1, and since my PS2 plays PS1 games I don't plan on getting one. Then again, I don't play PS1 imports :)

speaking of imports, does anybody ever used the gameshark/action replay to watch other region dvds? I'm wonderin how well does it work. I'm thinking about using that instead of goin out and buyin a region free dvd player. I'm searchin it online and the cheapest one I can find is $150.
