Should I just spend the extra money and get a DS so I can play both GBA and SP games?

Unless you plan on playing GB or GBC games, I would get a DS.

well it really depends on if you were playing GB or GBC games... if you were wait for the micro, so that you can get a cheap SP, if you were only playing gba games then go with the ds for sure

It's probably better to get a DS, and if you really need GBC support pick up a used GBC.

Well I play my old GBC games on my GBC since they got kinda annoying popping so far out of the GBA. So, DS then? I'd get a Micro, but some of the games on the DS look too good (new Pokemon, for example).

What's wrong with your sp?

In case you guys didn't know, the Micro does NOT play gameboy color games, which is contrary to some of your beliefs.

It's not that it's broken, it's just got a HUGE chunk of dust under the screen, and it's gotten annoying to the point that...well......I want a new one.
PS
Put of curiosity, do GBA games pop out of the DS like GBC games pop out of a GBA or are they nice and snug?

I have both an SP and a DS, and while the DS is a cool little thing I am more comfortable playing GBA games on the SP.
I'd go for the DS. Micro looks cool, but why pay more than the cost of GBA for a handheld with a smaller screen? It doesn't look comfortable to hold, either, unless you're a carnie (small hands).

the gba cart fits perfectly in the DS, and if you use a gba to play old games, then get the ds for sure

Def a DS! If you have GB & GBC games, why not look around and find a Gameboy Color too? They aren't going to be expensive at all. But of course, that's only if you still play your GB/GBC games. :) Unless the DS future lineup doesn't impress you..then just get another SP.

DS... hands down makes all the GBA games I play now look alot better than on a regular or SP GBA.

Definately get DS. And the GBA games fit in perfectly.

Alright, thanks peeps. I went ahead and got a DS. Though there aren't many games out for it now that interest me, I see a pretty good lineup. Oh and BTW, I am now typing with this s/n because I am home and I used the other one from work (I made that one for all the store employees to use since they're constantly visiting this site for deals.
PS
To anyone that has NFSU2......is it any good? Does it compare to the console version?

I've been wanting to get a ds for a while now. I saved up about $200 for a psp, now I'm thinking of spending that money for a ds. New games r coming out

Yeah I still don't have a single DS game yet, except the Metroid demo, but its still nice to play GBA games on. I never had a GBA, just bought the Castlevania games and stuff I wanted to play anyway, and I don't really like using the Game Boy Player that came with my Gamecube that much.

That was a rumor from gamefaqs, unproven. It was started because the DS can't play GBC and GB games.
How about a link?

It wasn't even a rumor, just speculation.

Definitely with the DS. The screen is SO much better than the SP. The once hard-to-see Castlevania: CotM is revelatory on the DS.
