I was at my local used gaming store.. and low & behold I saw a rare copy of Orge Battle for SNES...

This copy was flawless, it had Orig Box, manual & weapon listing map... along with cart in perfect shape w/ The clear plastic cover on it also...

The guy said it was from his personal collection... and asking $100 firm...

so is it worth it for this game?

I find the game to be very boring. You're unable to control your party's actions outside of using tarot cards, and that gets real old real fast. Also, I'll never forgive Enix for ripping off Queen when titling that game. Queen II is way better than that game will ever be.

I would say no. If you're looking to just play the game, you can probably find a good condition copy for either PSX or SNES for less than that.

How do you know Yasumi Matsuno isn't just a Queen fan, seeing as Tactics Ogre also had a Queen based subtitle?

It's worth it for collection purposes but if you just wanna play the game you can find the cart much cheaper.

Fan or no, it's still sullying something good with something crappy. I really don't like the SNES version of Ogre Battle (never played Tactics), so it hurts me on the inside that it's titled (in sequence even) after 2 great Queen songs. They should have named it something like " The Unquestionable Truth: Pt 1" although that may be a tad harsh (and a time paradox, but you get my drift).

bah keep looking or emulate it see if you like the game.. never buy games off of "collectors" value.. because you never know when the price of things will just suddenly drop off the face of the Earth.

That sucker's been worth that much for a loooong time. Back when I worked at a Funcoland almost 10 years ago, its going used price was at least $100. That was before Ebay went big, though, so I don't know what effect that has had on prices.

I would hate to see how much a sealed copy would go for...

I'm sure the gameplay isn't so great... but just to add to my collection... I might bite...

I got about 10 TRU games & $1.99 CC games.. going today to see if we can make a deal...

I wouldn't pay that much for it. However, if you want it and can afford it, why not go for it?

Make sure that battery still works though.
