I use Firefox, still have IE on for when I have to use it....but, it always brings tons of pop ups etc. Even when I open some WMA fileswhile using Firefox it starts opening stuff or trying to. I use adaware, spybot, antivirus stuff etc and nothing has been able to fix it. Anyone know how to fix this complete pain in the a$$? Thanks!

What version are you running?... the Latest IE 6sp2 has built in pop-up blocking... Make sure your OS and IE are fully up-to-date...
I use MS's AntiSpyware tool, spybot, spywareblaster, and AVG antivirus. No problems here.
Oh... and keep that Open Source browser up-to-date too...

You said sometimes you have to use IE. When do you have to use IE that you can't do with Firefox?

Ya. In IE. You don't need the cookies turned on here since you're using firefox for email as well anyway.

For me, I have to switch to IE when I'm writing mail in Yahoo or Hotmail. Either one and I don't get all the options for the text and all that. The default text and resulting margins are thrown off in Firefox as well. Is there some sort of option I can turn on in Firefox to fix that?

Get the extension 'Hotmail Tab'. It should fix those margin misalignments.

Great. Thanks for filling me in on that. How 'bout the use of the text editor in Yahoo? Any way to get that? I need my emoticons.

That's strange. I use Yahoo Mail and Hotmail too with my Firefox. I didn't notice any problem. What version Firefox are you using? You can check to see if there is a newer version here:
http://www.mozilla.org/
I think latest version is 1.0.4.

If you're running an OS earlier than XP you can use the Google Toolbar for popup blocking and constant access to the main Google features. I like it it quite a lot.

The text editor in yahoo mail?
Yup. I'm using the most current Firefox, but I don't have access to the text editor and all those options (emoticons, colors, etc.) and the text is the typewriter-looking one.

It's not an option. If you go into yahoo mail, and then go to:
Mail Options > General Preferences > Composing Emails
You have the choice of plain text or 'colors and graphics' but if you look at the note underneath it says:
This option is only available on for Internet Explorer 5.5 and higher.

Yeah, that's the problem. I wish they'd fix it for Firefox. I hate having to fire up IE.

I haven't used IE for yahoo mail or hotmail so I didn't even know that they existed until you mentioned it. Maybe you can contact someone at Yahoo Mail or Hotmail about it?
