I'm not sure if I should be a dick and fight it though. 50 is still a good deal, and they've been really great with problems i've had in the past.

Rightstuf is one of the best sites I have ever ordered from in terms of Anime. Always quick shipping, even with free shipping, and they have great weekly deals and lots of relatively cheap stuff. Never had any problems with them with the 4 or 5 times I have ordered from them. even if you are put on backlog, they will try to accomodate your order as soon as possible and get it from the manufacturer. They also have great customer service. They rank as one of my favorite online sellers next DDDVD and other sites.

Don't know too much about this show, but compared to what it normally goes for, this is a great deal for the complete series and the box of it.

Way I justified it to myself was I'm getting 400 dollars in product for 100 bucks. Also even with the new sets comeing out it is still going to be about 200 MSRP. Even DDD is selling the individual sets for around 20 with the 20% off that the cheapest they would get is still around 16 which would be 128 bucks. So unless Buyrite or some other place clearences them out at like 7-10 it's about the cheapest these are going to be for a long time. Plus you get two boxes for the sets. Although they might do the empty box plus Vol One thing that seems to be popular these days. What I can't seem to figure out though is why they clearence stuff out that they don't have currently in instock.

As for clearancing stuff out when it's not ins tock, this is my guess. Thair supplier or whatever is trying to clear inventory and Right Stuf negotiates a discount price with them. Then they run the sale and tally up how many orders they're getting. Then they place the order after the sale s over and in another week the sipment is delivered to RS who then sends it to the individual shoppers.

I usually find that it takes about a week to ten days after the end of the weekly sale for them to reciev an OOS sale item and then ship it to you. Then you wait a couple more days for it to arrive.

But a hundred bucks for 52 episodes of anime is pretty good. Just less than two bucks an episode.

I doubt it. The single-disc releases they're doing now are *exact* copies of the discs available in the box sets, right down to the lack of cast credits until disc 4. If they didn't remaster the show for that release, it's highly unlikely that they'd do so in the future. Buy now!

The first couple of times that I ordered from them (my NGE box set and Samurai X: The Movie) came in roughly a week or so. My orders came from their east coast warehouse I belive and I don't remember who they used to ship to me. I'll have to go check the and see.

that's pretty damn good for a 2 hour series that is essentially hentai Tenchi Muyo. Literally, it's made by the same studio that makes Tenchi. top notch animation, hilarious plot, probably my favorite hentai anime of all time. oh,, i recommend the Nightwalker set. It's 3.99 for the whole 12 episode series on dvd. Strangely its dub only. The series isn't amazing or anything but it pretty enjoyable and 12 episodes for 3.99 is pretty insane. It also makes a great little item to push up your order to free shipping. I think it would be a good compliment to anyone's Hellsing purchase.

Blood The Last Vampire is okay... decent action, but no real storyline.

Hellsing -- Awesome. It's straight up action with awesome characters and a pretty good storyline. Gonzo did the animation so it's top notch.

Samurai X: The Motion Picture -- Kind of weak for a Kenshin anime, but it's still really, really good. Very entertaining movie with the cast of Kenshin. Good action and a surprisingly good storyline.

As far as Rightstuf selling legit stuff -- yeah, they're probably the best store in terms of customer service and as far as having the items an anime fan wants -- all of which are the official product. They're great.

Wow!?!?:shock: A 60 disc series. The max series that I have ever bought was Yu Yu Hakusho, where once I recieve my DVD from DDD there should be only one DVD left coming to a total of 32 volumes, but a lot I got for free and most for fairly cheap $10-14.99 range.

I don't really have a rule for long anime, but I mostly just wait around for box sets to come out since I like those more, and it's A) cheaper B) allows me time to watch what I currently have C) etc. etc. With Hakusho it's one of my favorite series and like I said, I got it for fairly cheap, same with my Gundam Wing series, etc. Most anime I have are cheap/box sets like Dai Guard, Gunparade March, Big O, a couple I'm forgetting.

Longest series I have is Legend of Galactic Heroes, 12 disc Core Series HK DVD set. the OVA's/movies would be another 9 discs. The Series itself is 110 eps or so and the OVA's and couple movies are another 52. I shudder to think how much a Region 1 realese will cost if it ever makes it here.

Yes it's a damn excellent series, one of the few anime series where I would've like dit even more if it was even longer. The character development is excellent IMO and the mafia story arc was so damn amazing, I really wish it was longer. But I've said it before, that I'll always be blown away that they were able to pull such deep characters and plots out of a game that I beat in under 2 hours.

The names were a little generic maybe, but it didn't bother me really. And to be perfectly honest when I first heard about becoming an anime I did think it would be less so to speak. I mean I knew the basic premise from playing the game, but I figured they'd make Brandon out to have some kind of "Vash complex" where he refused to do harm, but I was obviously mistaken and I'm very glad I was.

As for Inuyasha, wouldn't it be a little less costly plus a little easier to collect them in the Season boxsets, or have they decided not to produce those for the long run?

The box sets are two seasons behind the regular DVD releases is the thing. By the time the season 2 box comes out, I'll be well in to the 4th season. That and the fact that I started buying them prior to the box sets ever being released. And, no, I don't have cartoon network so I can't even watch them edited. :sad:

Sorry for the lack of coverage guys for the past couple of weeks. It's a looooonnggg story, but in short I just had a slew of problems.

I gave a looksie here and there for the Rightstuf Weekly deals, and I don't think that we missed a ton of stuff. Mostly the usual has stayed up (i.e. Fushigi Yugi, Trigun, Helsing, etc.) with a few changes. I know that they had the Big O Complete First Season Collection and some other items that I found worth it as well as other members, like Duo's recommendation of Ninja Scroll series. Great movie, but I have no clue about the series. I also know that a few of the "regulars" that Rightstuf puts up have come back in stock and then went out. Hopefully my abscence hasn't detered anyone from going to Rightstuf and checking to see what they have.

And without further ado, here's the update. Blood: The Last Vampire, Comic Party Comically Good Savings Bundle, Demon Lord Dante DVD Box Set have all come back in stock.

After 3 or 4 weeks, the two Fushigi Yugis have been taken down. It might come back in stock though, for those who hesitated on it (like me ;):)). Also Helsing was taken down :(. I so wanted to get this one, but I didn't, and still don't, have the money. Hopefully it will come in sometime again when I have the dough to pay for it. And then the worst, Trigun's out as well. :( Le Cry. Oh and that Tenchi Muyo: Universe is out also.

So that's all of it. If there's anything else that you can recommend guys please post. I'll probably not get it up this weekend (going to Comic-Con Woo!), but I'll keep it in mind for future reference.

It's worth noting that there is a bi-lingual release of this that also goes on sale once in awhile... I bought it for 9.99.

Yeah I know, like I said at the start there, there's only been slim pickings the past few weeks (though they were rolling out nic deals for awhile there). But the DVD forum's slow when it comes to traffic, so if I spot something for the week that is lower in price than places like amazon, DDD, etc, etc. then I post it (which is one reason why I do leave off some things from time to time) even if I've never seen it or really even heard about it. Very nice picks this week, although you're missing El-Hazard: The Alternative World for $35.

Also, I've always had a special place in my heart for Sol Bianca, although admittedly I haven't seen this Sol Bianca: The Legacy series. I've been dying to, but the cheapest I've seen it before this week was about 50 bucks, and dvdpricesearch is reporting 38.12 at dvdpacific as the next cheapest at the moment, so in terms of deals, this is a great one, only $25. AoD gives this series an A, so I'd say give it a chance.

Hand Maid May for $30 is a weekly deal mainstay, along with the G-Gundam 20$ sets, Saber Marionette J Complete for 69 (?), and Nightwalker for 3.99. While those are all excellent deals in their own right, they wont be going anywhere. :)

I generally always saw this set at 50, so I'm going to jump on it at 25 now. I saw the originals, and while it wasn't anything to write home about, Sol Bianca was one of the first anime titles i saw.

Okay, I have The Legacy which only has six episodes.

I thought that except for the opening music and the episode where they go through a recreation of Dante's Hell that the show was poorly done and ho hum. It didn't help with all the CG, because I just don't like CG as much.

Well that's basically what I've been doing for a little while. Missed a week or two here and there, but it's no big deal seeing as how nothing super special has come about. Unless you want someone to post an enirely new thread and update the OP. I dont know if that's totally necessary though. I always just add posts to this thread to save making a new one and keeping things tidy, but I'd be willing to start a new thread too this week I suppose if you think that'd be better. Actually, I think I found a typo in their Last Exile flight pack listing. It says it has the first 4 discs and a total run time of 325 minutes, but the first four discs combined would be 400 minutes...

Looking back over this thread, I actually like the way you have been doing it Duo. Sounds good to me and you get my approval. It reminds me of the way that we would do the EBGames Morning Update thread. Have a general statement with a bunch of the usual links, and the continuously update at the end. I'll try to get back into doing the front page soon, once some of the crap I've been going through quiets down, but for the time being I think I'll leave it the way it is. All I ask from anyone is that if they see the one of the usuals that I have put up is taken down, if they could just simply PM the info and I'll take it down/exchance.

Zaion's kinda wierd, seems like everybody I know that's seen it either likes it or hates it. It's kind of an action/love series, the main problem being that it never seems to have a proper mixture of the two to really work well. It's also pretty short, only like 2 hours total, which makes some connections with characters detached and a little confusing. The animation and production are really good, and I sort of enjoyed the story, but I don't know that it's for everyone.

I found it entertaining. Really enjoyed the art design and animation; there are a couple of very well done aerial (well technically space) dogfight scenes. Has some interesting themes on the views of immortality (sort of...).

A specific story is rather lacking, though. It seems to meander around until the last four or five episodes. So don't go in expecting a great cohesive narrative.

Try to rent or borrow the first couple DVD's. The general story starts to pick up through the third and fourth volumes.

As for comparisons, none that I could give you. I'm not that well versed in anime, nor do I have the money to buy that much of it.

I've passed on even dropping 50 on the Ranma ½ sets when I've had the opportunity. 350 for the entire series is still to much and I saw no motivation in getting the HK sets. Hope they do re-realese them if I can get them for 25-30 on sale I'd go for it.

That Saiyuki Vol. 1 + shirt + arbox for 10 is a nice deal. Ten bucks is a decent deal for the shirt alone. Would have to then buy the rest of the DVDs though...too much. :(

I'll probably wait on the full set of Genshiken, hopefully I'll be able to get it on the cheap. Damn good series. I don't buy much Anime at all (mostly if it's too cheap to pass up) but Genshiken is one that I'd almost be willing to pay retail for.

Sadly it also looks like they finally sold out of pretear volume 3. You can still get volume 1+artbox for 9.99 and volumes 2 and 4 for 5.99 each. A really great deal considering the thinkpak edition is more expensive and does not contain the extras.
