Who pre-ordered and from where?
Im looking for the cheapest ya heard?! :D
Also why is everyone keeping so quiet about this? Its very suspicious so my instinct is to kick the hype machine in motion and get psyched with fellow cag's over this upcoming game.
It seems that Europe and Australia get to enjoy it first and one week later BF2 invades North America. And In case you havent heard the demo is going to be released a week before so expect it soon! Be real cool to play with some fellow cags and rock this b!t@h when the demo comes out.
Cant wait!

yep, but that does not mean Modern combat is not going to be awesome. It is probably my most looked forward to PS2 game. I was totally disappointed when EA did not show Battlefield 2 as a 360 launch title, because I probably would have gotten the system for christmas because of this (mainly because I would not have to upgrade my PC and I liked playing Battlefield with a controller better)
and I need to upgrade my PC before I pick this up, but when I do, this and Half Life 2 are first on my list to pick up

This game was definitely one of the more impressive looking PC games at E3.
Its off the meat rack.
The console versions aren't nearly as impressive.

As much as I'd love to pick it up, EA products are getting worse and worse for the PC.
Sims 2 has numerous, still unfixed problems. Battle for Middle Earth still has numerous crashes after two patches... hell I've even heard of game breaking problems still in C&C Generals: Zero Hour.
I'll probably wait for the game to drop and a patch to come out before I pick it up, as EA seems to be getting very lax about quality control.

I'm really surprised to hear about Sims 2 having problems. I'm not so surprised about the other 2 titles having problems because they aren't part of flagship series for EA. Battlefield is definetly what you would call a flagship series and as a result I doubt they would leave many bugs unpatched for very long.
I don't usually get very excited for PC games but I'm really looking forward to this one. I preordered my copy a couple days ago but my Gamestop didn't have the preorder boxes in stock but they had just been shipped so I will be able to pick one up sometime this week. You just can't beat that preorder deal, $10 down gets you a free headset and a rebate which will make the Battlefield 2 Zboard keyset free.
I was pretty much sold when I was reading a preview about it and one of the developers was talking about how they thought there was a glitch in the game because someone swore that a rocket had hit a helicopter. After reviewing the ingame video recording (which is part of the retail version also) they realised that the rocket had actually passed right through the open doors of the helicopter. Talk about some amazing attention to detail... Oh and the other thing the developer mentioned was that they wanted people to be able to have the freedom to do what they want, including somethign as odd as riding on the wing of a bomber as it flies over the battlefield.

Yea, Sims 2 is notorious for alot of bugs - mostly relating to installing and playing, not the actual gameplay itself.
I know when Sims 2: University came out, there was some kind of error with the first batch of pressed CD's, and the game just wouldn't install right. It was a matter of just returning the cd over and over until you found one that worked.
It took me two returns of the same game to find a working copy.
Not to mention the problems I've had with Battle for Middle Earth, I'm very weary about buying another EA product for the PC again. It also dosen't help their tech support is the most abysmal I've ever seen - I'm still unsure of where to find an option to email or call them, all they have up is the generic database, with such tips as "Uninstall and reinstall".
It took me about two days and numerous forums to actually find the fix for Battle for Middle Earth, which involved me having to buy a new DVD drive.

My mobo is off to get re-flashed, but as soon as it comes home I expect to fire this baby up. I wasn't going to get it, but there's nothing interesting for consoles for a long time now.

I was a member of the Battefield Modern Combat PS2 alpha test, and god damn, it was fun. Just don't get the PS2 version... I'm afraid that the incredibly low framerate will stick with it.

I play the Modern Combat PS2 demo on and off even now--it's good fun, but nothing can compare with the real deal BF2 for PC we've come to know and love.
Anxiously awaiting the arrival of this game, maybe it will shake my Guild Wars addiction.

I didn't find the frame rate bad, and really liked being able to use a controller (then again, to get a good frame rate in battlefield you need a kick ass rig, which I do not have so I guess I got used to the low frame rate). Though I will also say when you are owning people left and right and almost always dominate the game, it is kind of hard to look into other things because you are just loving the ownage:D
And I will probably end up buying the PS2 version even if it is worse, because there are only so many PS2 online games and there are a ton of Xbox ones, and the Live people migrate way too fast, so I worry the community just will not be there.

Let's get excited over this people. This is gonna rock.
Anyone have suggestions for a decent, but fairly inexpensive joystick? I'd only use it for this game.

Any good cheap ass headsets out there?
Are the preorder ones any good?

I may be mistaken, but the pre-order ones are the same Logitech ones that came with the CE of Unreal Tournament 200x (whatever the latest one was). It's actually not that bad. The mic is very flexible and there's an inline volume/mute control.

I bought a headset/mic at eb for $8 about 4 months ago and it has worked great for gaming. I didn't expect much out of it, but I like it a lot.
