So I just made a new AIM screenname, and i realized that i switch through them about every 6 months it seems, i have multiple that i use at once sometimes, it must be annoying for my friends :) but one of my firends has had the same name since 8th grade, i just cant do it... what about you kids?

I've had mine for 3 years.

Used the same once ever since the started using the internet back in 96. Use the same handle for everything, actually.

Scorch
06-04-2005, 02:32 PM
I've had the Scorch name for well over 10 years (dating all the way back to.. 1994 I think, on AOL 3.0 as ScorchV), but i've only had my AIM name for about six or seven years.

I used ufelldownagain for 4 years, MHG for 2.

You can always just link your screennames.

I've had my current screen name for a while. I changed it about six years back or so because I wanted to ignore some people on my list. I guess I could have just used the ignore feature, but it's just more final the way I did it.

change your screen name, who the hell cares.

ive had mine for 6years, there is no need to change. every screen name does the same exact thing.

Stoneage

Stoneage is not my AIM name, in fact, I've only had AIM for about a month. Stoneage was my name on the LP MUD Highlands III back in 1991 or 2. So old Stoney is a freaking teenager. Good gravy. I need some wrinkle cream.

I've always used the same sn. I'm not sure when I started using it, but 8th grade sounds about right.

So about 10 years.

I've had mine for about seven years... if that's possible. i thought I made my name in 2nd grade (finishing 10th grade now), but I could be thinking wrong. =P I made it in elementary school at least.

Oriole pencils are pointless? How do you use them?

I've had mine since 6th or 7th grade (I graduated in 04). It's pointless to change them because then you have to im everyone on your list letting them know you got a new SN.

In 2nd grade?? Um....no computer. The pre-Vic 20 was out....whatever that thing was called.

In 7th grade our school had Apple 2e's. Gertrudes Secret, Oregon Trail and all that cutting edge stuff.

hahah, well i used to stick pencils in my butthole untill i realized that when you press one on paper it makes some sort of marking.

seriously, changing your screen name is retarted, especially every 6 months.

I've had mine since I was 16 or 17 (1996-1997), which is the same as my name here. I've kept it because I actually do have old buds that I haven't spoken to in a very long time IM me. It's the same reason I won't change it, because I get too many stupid questions from it (asking if my screename has anything to do with Highlander, which is a no). I actually thought mine up while shitfaced and still wanting to be a pilot, meaning that I'd rather have my head in the clouds than in reality.

So, for some strange tradition, whenever I make a username, I keep this one. Plus I've drowned a few braincells, so I have a hard time remembering passwords/usernames from time to time. Makes it easy to keep track of, if you know what I mean.

I've always had the same aim name, but it's different from my forums name. I figured when I started foruming I would end up making an ass of myself and eternally be known across the net as the "pwned kid" or something along the lines of DLF... If I embarass myself out of a community, I'll still retain my anonimity on a different platform... paranoia! I guess my parents smoked too much pot while I was in the womb. (o_O)

My AIM name has been the same since I started using it when I was 9-10 so that's about 5-6 years.

If you decided to make a screen name today, wouldnt you have to deal with all sorts of compromises with most regularly spelled things already taken? I've had mine for about 10 years maybe, it was much easier to get something resembling what you wanted back then.

I have many AIM screen names, but I only log on 4 of them regularly. I've been using one of them since I began using AIM, so it's been maybe 7-8 years?

Zenithian Legend

My first screen name had a lyric pertaining to God in it, but everyone who got the name instantly assumed it had some religious conotation, so I quickly changed it to my current one which is just my name followed by an X and some #s. It was only meant to be a place holder until I found something better, but I went to college shortly after and gave it out to a bunch of people, so it kind of stuck with me. I was going to change it recently, but I didn't for some reason, so it's been around for over 5 years now.

Thats why you add numbers at the end.

I've had mine for about 5, 5 and a half years, as I made it sometime after Crash Bandicoot 3 came out. :)

Pylis
06-05-2005, 03:28 AM
My AIM name had to be a variation of my standard online name (HHMPylis instead) because Pylis was already in use. Even so, I've had my AIM name for about 3 or 4 years.

I've had my aim screen name since 99... It doesn't even mean anything. Too lazy to change it to something else. I just typed in 3 letters, and aol added a bunch of numbers to it. Oh well, at least I am not using aol internet anymore.
