I have a brothers mfc210c scanner. I am haveing trouble with the pictures. I scan and it goes to paint by default I have figured out out to save it in jpeg format now but can get center pictures on page and still saves in a large kb count. am I doing something wrong or do I need better programs?

Usually when you save your picture, you will get an option to pick which format to use. If you pick JPEG, it'll ask you how compressed you want it.

Another thing you can do is to actually resize your picture before you save it.
