I was all ready to work on this problem but hes totally right.

If you JUST want to play Doom, the xbox is most of the experence (not all) IMO buying a PC just for it would be a case of deminishing returns.

Xbox, agreed. Even though my comp owns the hell out of Doom 3 with everything turned up to the maximum for the most part, I was still impressed that id made it kick ass on a 733MHz Celeron.

Ive seen it run smooth on a GF4 Ti4600. Didnt look great, but it was smooth.

I was thinking these exact same words. Buy an Xbox if you are only looking to play Doom 3 on your "pc".

What exactly is your current PC, maybe it'll run it already. I think buying either an xbox or upgrading the PC just for Doom 3 would be somewhat of a waste. If you are interested in other Xbox games or if you are interested in future or other PC titles (HL2, ES4: Oblivion, etc), then you should take that into consideration before investing.
