I am wondering what are some good 3D Cards (that could play HL2/Doom 3 fairly well) that would be compatible with my 2.2Ghtz, 512 Ram, PCI (not PCI express) Dell PC? Last Xmas, I went through a horrible ordeal, when my dad found a $250 Radieon card for $120, but it turned out not to be compatible with my PC as it was AGP. After searching around on Google, all I can find are PCI express cards. So anyway, can anyway help me out? Thanks!

You should probably just shoot your computer and buy a new dell desktop with PCI-Express or AGP for about $300. Just wait until bensbargains.net has a coupon that will bring one down that low. Good luck.

I think a Radeon 9000 or 9200 was one of the last PCI cards. Unfortunately anything you can get pci won't run doom 3 or half life 2 very well, PCI is just not meant for gaming.

Yea well the geforce fx 5700 should cream a 9200 and if you clcik on the link I posted you will see that one of the reviews says it plays far cry pretty damn well so it should run HL2 as well.

You are absolutely right about the FX 5700, didn't realize they made a pci express version, that is most likely your best option. And it might do a pretty decent job with Half Life 2/Doom 3. Just make sure in the future you get a pci express pc, or agp at the very least.
