It seems like adding "360" to your product is becoming trendy all of a sudden.
I count so far (and I'm sure I'll miss some):
Colgate 360 toothbrush (http://www.colgate.com/app/Colgate360/US/HomePage.cvsp)
Nascar 360 (http://www.fxnetworks.com/shows/originals/nascar_drivers360/main.html)
Xbox 360 (http://www.xbox360.com/)
Yahoo! 360 (http://360.yahoo.com/)
Anderson Cooper 360 (http://www.cnn.com/CNN/Programs/anderson.cooper.360/)
It seems like every day I hear about a new product or service with "360" tacked on the end. What the hell?

It's inevitable. You need to do a 180 on your opinion of 360.

Maybe '360' is the new 'Underground'
the way 'Underground' was the new 'Extreme' for a while

I think that 360 is the new "to the XTREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEME" even though it implies going back to its starting point.

Well, I wanted to keep this a secret, but I am launching "CAG 360 Digital" at the end of the year.
It will change game shopping forever with its proactive and revolutionary archetecture.
1.21 Jiggawatts of video game shopping power!
I will be having a product launch on VH1 featuring Danny Cooksly and Gary Coleman in a celebrity boxing match. To show you how revolutionary I am, I will be wearing a 3 piece Brooks Brothers suit over a PUMA track suit.

How much will all of this new digital content cost? And will it require a high definition credit card and new $5000 computer just to handle it?

pretty funny article, but here's the quote that fits for this thread:
"Atari and Sega both kept cranking out consoles after their dominant machines ran their respective courses. The Atary 5200, Atari 7800, Atari Jaguar, Sega Saturn and Sega Dreamcast sold a combined 14 machines worldwide. It's the same reason why the losing Presidential candidate and second-place Superbowl team becomes late-night joke fodder; this culture hates losers. And for a video game, losing the "cool wars" inside gamers' heads and chat rooms is a death knell. Nintendo should consider a name change for the next console.
My suggestion: The KillSim TitBox."

360 degree is one full revolution. A product revolution is usually a good marketing tool to attract customers.

Yes...but to me that says the product is back to where it started...don't you usually want to do a 180 when you improve...like, I'm going to do a 180 on my life and get it together.
360 = teh suck.

You would only do a 180 if you were headed in the wrong direction. They are talking about doing a 360 there are talking about you being in the center of the world of Xbox online.

Like another poster already said, 180 degree means you were going in the wrong direction before. And I don't know if any company want to market their new product by saying that their old product was headed in the wrong direction.

Especially if you're making the new system backwards compatible. "Hey, we're going in the right direction now but all those games from when we were completely out of our fucking heads will still work!"
I want an Xbox 450 - "We're making a hard left here, people!"
