... I do kind of suck at racing games though so maybe that's it. I do know that it is going to take forever to get all 173 Gold medals though. I crash all the time. Also, are there any strategies for the crash courses? I've tried the one at the Marina about 50 times and I just can't get the Gold there... there's a tanker that I can't seem to reach to explode - that damage would certainly put me over the edge...

Aim at the 4x multiplier and try to hit at least three or four cars, you're pretty much guarenteed gold.

Nice thanks. I wasn't even aware there was a multiplier - I guess I have to open my eyes a bit...

for the crash modes: drive through the crash courses first and see where everything is at especially the (2x) and (4x) power-ups those help out tons and avoid the broken hearts. Slow mo when you go off a ramp is really useful when you want to hit/aim for a specific power-up.
I'm stuck in the very last parts of the game right now, i keep wrecking too.

The last few Burning Laps are impossible.

I still haven't finished Burnout 2 with all golds. I likely never will though cause I am tempted to move on to Burnout 3.

to be good at burn out 3:
think like a 12 year old emo, cut yourself, cry, write and perform an emo song. then attempt to play the game. You'll notice how much better you'll play immediatly with your new mindset.

javeryh - just look for the green things on the crash courses, they're the 4x multipliers.

Oh. I didn't know. I have the XBox version and I use custom soundtracks.. I never use default EA soundtracks.. unless I have no choice, of course.

Get the print strategy guide from Best Buy for a penny. (I've got an extra copy sitting around somewhere if you get desperate.)

Since when is 80s punk considered EMO? In fact, none of the EA Trax games that I can think of have EMO music.
Is there some deeper issue to blame here? Do they EMO kids at school make fun of you?

Did the big green floating "4x" signs in the middle of the accident not make you curious to see what would happen if you hit one before you posted? Seriously, did you put it in, race or crash once then run to the keyboard?
OR
There is the video tutorial that it plays automatically the first time.

The videos are available under the options menu.
Skip the guide, even at a penny. It is useless. Its basically just page after page of car pics and stats. When you come to realize that mostly you should be racing with the custom car (until everything is unlocked) and when it comes to beating down other competitors you should be racing assasin class.
Also if you have a TV that supports 16x9 you should use it. Seeing more of the road makes an amazing amount of difference in this game, specifically on the F1 and Burning Lap races later in the game.

I have the strategy guide and to tell you the truth they aren't really that helpful. Especially on the Burning Laps, nothing at all can help on the burning laps. I had to play one of those damn things over and over for almost 3 hours before I beat it. They require an extremely high level of perfection. Boost through pretty much the whole course and absolutely no crashes.

How do you get to the custom music option on Burnout 3 for the Xbox? I didn't notice this option on the game.
