View Full Version : My $20 Paper Mario Arrived Today!

Finally - I ordered it over a week ago. I don't really like RPGs but I keep trying to (why? I have no idea). I love Mario games so I'm hoping this is what triggers the RPG bug in my system... FFVII was OK, I guess and FFIII (US) for SNES was great - they are the only two RPGs I've put any real time into...

I wasnt a big fan of this game and I like RPGs, this is way too kiddy for my tastes, and humor was very not frequent from what I expected, though Luigi's story is great.
Gamecube is my main played system.

I don't like many RPGs these days (2D RPGs are awesome though)...but I loved Paper Mario (and the previous one for that matter)
Almost beat it, stuck on the last boss...very hard..atleast compared to the rest of the game.

i agree, there hasnt been much in terms of good rpg's lately, or at least i havent played any, last "rpg" i played was xmen legends, but thats more of a action-rpg...
just waiting on zelda in nov, thats gunna be a great game

This game was amazing. Actually IS amazing. I'm playing it right now. This is the reason i want Nintendo to kick some MS and Sony ass next round. Games like this dont come around very often. Nintendo 1st party games havent slipped into obscurity or mediocrity like every other company out there. from the 80's on they have released some of the best gaming in the world...an incredible feat I do not want to see stop. Paper Mario opened my eyes to that.
I hope they beat up Microsoft, at least. MS, with their Pimp-My-Ride culture focus...makes me sick.

that Baten game for the gamecube was a good rpg game. (though the freaking last boss cheats CHEATS I HATE YOU BOSS :)

I do not see how this belongs in a deal forum, he is talking about a gamecube game, his game arrived and he is hoping it gets him back on track with RPG games. It's a video game, its a gamecube game, it's starting a discussion.. He got it for 20.00 . So that's 3 things that fit into this forum. It looks like it was placed in the right area to me.

Its not like there is an overabundance of posts in the Gamecube forum...theres like what 1 or 2 new threads a day?
I doubt he was making the thread just to state he got the game. Maybe he wanted to trigger some discussion on how great of a game Paper Mario is.

Ha, you sig'd my quote! I'm also playing Paper Mario now, but I don't see what's so great about it. It's fun, but not something I'll be replaying any time soon. Nintendo's first party games are usually great, but rpgs are not their strength.

yeah, because so many of the threads around here are so meaningful. :roll: If you don't like it, don't post. Why all the hostility? There's no need to call me a dumbass...
Anyway, I started Paper Mario last night and it's really... different. I like it so far and I can already tell the sarcastic writing style and references to past Nintendo/Mario games is going to keep me interested.

Paper Mario is only RPG I actually like. I thought it was pretty funny. But yeah, that last boss... I never beat it. I tried going back to town to buy some more items but I couldn't find my way or something. I don't think I'll ever beat it.

I'd go back and try it but its a pain to sit through the cut scenes again and again...I've only got one ultra shroom left too. I'm just hoping I get lucky and get 3 mushrooms or shines in the lottery thing.
