Sometimes you can get great deals on open box items, but I have seen cases where you are better off buying the same said product new as the open box price even with the discount isn't worth it.

Plus I have read more than enough horror stories on open box items at BBY too just on BestBuySux.org alone to scare me away.

YMMV indeed on open box period.
