One of the most emotional anime, let alone movies, that I have ever seen. Prepare to be pretty down for a couple of days. One of the saddest films I have ever seen. I finally saw Spirited Away recently. Before I actually sat through it I thought it must be over-hyped; no way is it going to be as "groundbreaking" as everyone claims (I'm definately not an anime fan).
Boy was I wrong.
That is one of the best films I've seen in a long time. Simply mezmerizing. Both the story and visuals are top of the line. And at this price, anyone who hasn't seen it should definately consider it.
On the other hand Princess Mononoke, which I watched on a whim awhile ago, left me completely cold. I thought it lacked both visual and emotional punch.

Remembered in local BB store they have Disney coupon Gift Card (Buy 2 save $5, buy 3 save $10). All 3 movies for $45 - $10 = $35 is steal deal... :)

Just run into Gift Card Rack and search for Disney Gift Card you'll see a CD room Gift card ..pickup to cashier put $5 - $30 on it. Take off the coupon then pickup all 3 Miyazaki Films DVDs. Take it up to Cashier hand them the coupon and Gift card then extra $5 plus taxes. :)

GET APPLESEED. Not only is the CGI/character interaction amazing, but the story has a number of well developed themes and really makes you question "who exactly are the 'bad guys' or 'good guys' . " I can vouch for the high praise it gets. I paid $20 at suncoast and feel I got my money's worth.

Well, it's no worse than Appleseed. But if you don't like shoujo, you should probably stay away. Also, these are the last few discs in the series, released together because the show wasn't selling very well in America (and yet crap like Gantz actually sells... *sigh*).

Appleseed still has a sale for 14.99 at Sam Goody last time I checked, offliners could go there to save a few bucks. They also had a bin of duck tape on sale, make of that what you will.

Or just $6 for the first disc or $3 per disc used at my Gamestop. And I really don't think the show is of the level of crap. I enjoy it, but not like my other anime shows. I'd give it a B+ to an A. It gets an A- on animeondvd.com.

I just got back from a Best Buy trip and used the coupon on Spirited Away, Kiki, and Laputa. It didn't ring up right for the cashier, and mass confusion ensued. But the manager eventually overrode the price and gave me my $10 off.

Yeah, it didn't work for me either, and the cashier had to call a manager. It may be that these coupons were not meant to be used on Disney/Ghibli films.

Also, be aware that the Appleseed DVD is not the Limited Edition in the cool case. It's a one disc deal. But, if you get BB's DVD Insider, there's a coupon for $5 off the limited edition, which brings it down to $19.99, I believe.
