Why does the price of CSI stay so stubbornly high!?!? Except for HBO releases, most shows seem to be selling for at most 49.99 (if not most at 39.99), why is CSI the exception?

Anyway, Jaws may be a nice pickup, but thank goodness a slow week. Spent too much last week X-Files Mythology, ST INsurrection, Newlyweds, Lois & Clark .... too many dvds, too little time!

What is Highlander The Raven? I thought all of the Highlander movies and t.v. series were already out on DVD. Is this maybe just a double dip re-release?

Raven was a HORRIBLE 1 season spin-off staring that female immortal that showed up in a ton of Highlander episodes. Sorry, I can't remember her name but I remember her having short black hair and she was a thief.

Syndicated series. Aired for 1 season, '98-'99.

Rocky Anthology Includes all five Rocky films plus a bonus disc

However I should mention that very few of the Rocky boxsets include the actual bonus disc. I got the boxset for Christmas last year and ended up e-mailing MGM asking where is the bonus 6th disc. They mailed it to me without any problems, and it ended up being a lame A&E special on Sly himself.

Thanks for the Ad!!!

If you were thinking of getting those Batman movies (which are good for a laugh, aside from the first one) get the Batman Collection at Sam's for like $24 for all four.

I had heard that WB plans on releases special editions of each of the movies to go along with the DVD release of Batman Begins.

I enjoyed these movies. The first is obviously the best, but Jim Carrey and Tommy Lee Jones were great villains (nippled bat-suit beside the point).

Also, the Rocky boxset is nearly all barebones except for a commentary on the first movie, and the set might not even have that

Just so people realize this...

in the DVD Preview flier in B&M stores, you can get an extra 10 dollars off either the Spiderman 2 Collector Set or the Monty Python and the Holy Grail Collector set.

I had heard about the re-releases too. What ever happened to them? I wanted to buy Batman and Batman Returns, but was waiting for the remastered editions.

How about an impossibly good deal on season 4, would that make you happy?

http://www.ecost.com/ecost/shop/countdown/clearance/default.asp

$26.99 + $4.95 handling + $1.99 shipping, possibly + tax

Currently third row from the bottom. Even with the $4.95 handling fee, it is still a killer deal.

Good, I hadn't heard this news but figured they would do something like this. Which is why I've held off on buying the movies up until now. Actually, the 2 Batman movies & Beetlejuice are the only Tim Burton movies I don't have on DVD. Waiting for a SE of Beetlejuice as well. ;)

I liked all the Batman movies except for the last one, but I'd still pick up a box set to have them all.

One more point, to whoever was complaining about the CSI prices. I feel your pain, but that's hardly the only series to be overpriced, HBO series aside. There's also anything Star Trek, the X-Files (unless that recent rumored $50 universal price drop was true), and pretty much any Sci-Fi channel series (except for Stargate SG1, which has always been a reasonable $50).

I've yet to figure out why some studios charge so much for these sets. Considering the TV business model has them making their money off of the airing of the show, the DVD releases are just gravy for them.

I would love to pick up the Star Trek sets, but they are WAY overpriced. I bought the first season of TNG way back when at Costco for $90 but couldnt see myself spending all that on the rest of the series. Stargates were $60-$70 for a while, now it looks like they are dropping to half that. X-files have dropped as well. So lets hope Star Treks are next.

I would think that most of the time a tv series would be high priced is when there are licensing issues involved. Maybe with Star Trek there are so many people making royalties that they need to keep the price that high to make a profit. Unfortunately there are some sets i would have paid a higher price for completeness ( *cough* Quantum Leap. *cough*)
