Things are cooking now with the Nintendo DS, someone is working on a GBC emulator and on their site there are two screen shots.

I thought there was already a GBC emulator for the GBA....if that is the case, then this is a bit redundant.

I don't get it? how is it redundant? you can't currently play GB or GBC games on the DS

Interesting, but if the programmer does succeed Nintendo may just update the firmware to prevent this.

If you have a GBA Flash card, you can load all sorts of emulators on it, and many GBA Flash Cards are compatible with the DS as well as the GBA

There was no GBC emulator for GBA. I think it was something having to do with GBC hardware that made it next to impossible to do.

no, only gba and ds games work with the ds. Also i have tried using the e-reader on my ds and it doesn't fit (ereader will not work with the ds).

I just want a handheld that plays all of the Gameboy shit I've bought over the years with a backlit screen.

Doesn't the SP and the upcoming Micro do that? (excepting the backwards controls in Kirbys Tilt'N'Tumble)

ok im clearing this up for everybody

you can load gb and gbc roms on to a gba flash cart and play them on a ds, you could do this since before the ds came out(also nes, pce, and some others). this is nothing new.

The DS has the same software compatibility as the GBA. The issue is that GBC and older carts use ROMs that require 5 v and GBA and DS use 3.3 v chips. Eliminating 5 v support simplified the engineering for battery life. Put the GBC game on a 3.3 v flash card and it should run as is.

No, the sp is front-lit, it makes that game look totaly washed out. The Gameboy Micro isn't confirmed to play Gameboy, and Gameboy color games yet. Plus the screen is insanely small, and not meant for extend gaming session.
