Hey all. Anyone know any good Bit Torrent sites for TV Shows? I am looking to get some cartoons and such for my PSP, and the ones I had bookmarked no longer exist.

Is this approved?

I don't want to get in trouble for listing things like torrentspy or BTFE.

BTEfnet used to kick mad ass, but they got shut down. Unless they've migrated elsewhere. Anybody heard anything on them?

There was a mirror for a while, but I don't have a link and the IRC channel is dead now, as far as I know. Sorry.

Damns. If the IRC channel is dead, that's a pretty sure sign the site ain't coming back. Where am I supposed to get my Dr. Who episodes now?!?

Yeah, I'm not too sure if it's against the rules to post torrentreactor.net or torrentspy.com, so I won't.

I miss suprnova.

http://www.torrentspy.com is pretty good about TV shows.

They have been blocking access to search functions on their site for a lot of popular content.. however, they only nix the entire phrase...

so Family Guy would be blocked.

but Family AND Guy, wouldn't..

But, I don't know nothing bout birthin' no babies, officer.

Basically, the more people sharing the Torrent, the higher your download rate.

Torrents work differently than your normal P2P. The essence of P2P like kazaa is that you waited in line to download a file. Let say Bob has a file called 'movie.avi'. Before another user, let's call him Joe, can get movie.avi, he has to wait till Billy is done downloading it since he was first in line. Then after Joe, George wants the file and will have to wait for both Billy's and Joe's turn so it would be like this:

Bob > Billy > Joe > George

Let's say movie.avi is equally downloaded at the same speed by everyone and the file takes about 6 hrs to get. George will have to wait at LEAST half a day before he can even BEGIN to get the file since Billy and Joe get priority.

Bittorrent works on the premise of sharing. The more ppl sharing the faster the downloads and no waiting. Using the same scenario, if Bob has movie.avi on torrent, the file is broken into 3 equal parts - A, B, and C. While Billy gets part A, Joe gets part B and George gets part C - all at the same time from Bob. At the same time, As Billy gets more and more of part A, he will in turn distribute it to Joe and George. The same applies for Joe and George. Joe sends out part B and George sends out part C to those who need it.

Think of it like a triangle where movie.avi is in the middle and it is being surrounded by the 3 parts distributed. Excuse the crude drawing:

Isohunt.com is a great site, and in case your wondering it's not all science videos like Bill Nye.

Filelist.org and torrentleech.org are great for a variety of different types of downloads.

"The Nanny" is good, late-night masturbation material if you have Lifetime (or no life at all).

You say "or" like it's one or the other. But really it's both.

Read it in the tone of "as a matter of fact", knuckleduster.

But if you're checking out television shows, check out Carnivale. Awesome enigmatic programming.

Give "Police Squad!" a download, too. It was the television show to which The Naked Gun was a spin-off.

to put it simply, all you downloaded were instructions to tell your program what you want to download and where to get it. you need to open the .torrent file with a bittorrent client(like bittornado) to initiate the download.

currently getting Twin Peaks-- was there only 2 seasons of this show?
On a related note, the radio show on davidlynch.com, called Oddio, is pretty damn funny.

Downloading from these sites is legal? Or will I have to pay artists $100,000 a song?
