PS1 on PS2 question

When playing PS1 games on the PS2, can you use a PS1 memory card, can you use a PS2 memory card, can you use both?

You can only use a PS1 card, and usually only an official PS1 card.

ps1 games will detect ps1 memory cards only, but you can transfer ps1 game saves to ps2 memory cards

yeah you can ARCHIVE your ps1 saves on a ps2 card. But to actually use the saves, you will need to transfer them back to a ps1 card first.
