Thanks, this is the only DS game coming out this year that interests me...Hell, it's the only game this year coming out on a Nintendo platform that I care about.

I'm sorry but every video I've seen of the game looks nothing reminiscent of the old Mario Bros games. This game looks like an early demo, the level is so barren. I really hope this isn't the final build.

Is this game a remake of some other super mario game???
I think the earlier gameplay footage on Gamespot looked better. It basically looks like it will be a classic mario game but with more fluid animations....I like how Mario grew after getting a mushroom. I also liked the earlier footage that showed a huge invincible Mario doing backflips and what not. That level did look a tad dull though. Can't wait for the final product.

Sweet video!
Is it just me or did the guy playing the game suck?

He probably sucked because he had to keep his head out of the way of the camera.

Just watching that movie made me want to get this game even more. That level reminded me a combination of Super Mario 2 and Super Mario 3. One of the reasons why I picked up the DS in the first place (I'm a sucker for the Super Mario Bros. series), and cause my girlfriend wanted to play Nintendogs.....wait.....I should have kept that one to myself......

I really hope this has all the old power ups and stuff, I want a 3D Frog Mario. Here's a pic of the box art from Gamestop

This video reminded me a lot of SMB3's Desert Land. If the rest of the game is similar to this, I can see myself picking it up at *gasps* full price.

Hate to sound like I'm repeating what others have said but this looks more like SMB3 with new levels. Nothing wrong with that however, as I'm glad to see Nintendo going back to their roots a little bit with this game.
Imagine however if Nintendo did something like this even on the Gamecube. With the amount of space on the GC discs, there is a lot of potential for being able to incorporate a lot of different levels and graphic designs. :)

That "combination" aspect is what interests me about the game. It looks like Super Mario Bros. Remix or something. You know they'll probably throw in a bunch of secrets too, like they did in Super Mario Bros. 3.

the game looks better on so many levels i dont think that comparison is just, mario games have had desert levels ever since number 2, so i dont see how you would single out number 3

Is anyone else having trouble viewing the video? I get an error message that the "protocol is not supported".

I just can't believe no one else is worried about how simple the game looks. There's no point to that level, it looks like all the guy had to do was get to the end. The enemies all looks simple, and the level looked very bland to me. I don't see how you could possible compare this to Mario 3, that game had such deep level structure, tons of enemies. This looks like an amateur made home-brew level, it;'s so simple, and barren.
