Saw it on http://playgressive.com/nds.php

Sure is looking good. It just needs to have a big variety in tracks if online is going to be a big selling point for it.

Are these screenshots legit?

It's hard to imagine that all the tracks from ALL the Mario Karts would be on the DS... and the Cube versions would defintely have to be scaled back due to the inferior DS hardware... or maybe it's just a few select tracks for the whole series?

Here's hoping though.

That's what I heard too, so I do not know what's up.

I like the track diversity if these shots are real. Here's hoping for a Choco Mountain and a Ghost House level or two. As for the scaling back, I wouldn't say that Luigi Circuit is that much of a hardware-intensive track, so it's possible that we could be seeing it with a bit of graphic adjustment.

I don't see a problem with the DS handling Cube tracks, from the very beginning they've shown the Yoshi shaped track from Double Dash.

I'm a huge fan of racing games in general so I have to buy this the day it comes out.

The Mario Kart DS preview in the July 2005 issue of Nintendo Power includes a little bit of info on the old tracks in the game:

For Mario Kart fans, the DS's first entry in the series is shaping up to be a dream come true. Complementing a bevy of brand-new tracks are nearly 30 courses from Super Mario Kart, Mario Kark 64, Mario Kart: Super Circuit and Mario Kart: Double Dash!! And download play means up to eight drivers can hit the road wirelessly with a single game card.
My guess is that only some of the old levels will be in the DS version.

I think the DS will be able to have the GC tracks. The DS's graphics actually aren't THAT bad. Just play Super Mario 64 DS and tell me that doesnt look really good.

holy shit! i wasn't going to buy this, since I didn't like Double Dash much, but they've finally learned their damn lesson about having too few tracks YAY!!!
