Great, now we have to worry about bootleg DS games now :(

That's crazy because I thought the DS used RSA encoding. Like it should be impossible with current technology to break. Oh well.

Wait, this doesn't sound like news. It sounds like they're just reporting the existence of the NeoFlash, which has been out for weeks.
Or am I missing something?

This would only be cool if you could get a blank DS card to store SNES games on or somthing. I'm hoping that comes soon for the PSP...

Actually, they are talking about putting the ripped games onto a GBA flash cart which then goes into your DS. You play the pirated DS game from the GBA cart.
If this is true, I would think that Nintendo could battle this by making each DS game bigger than the storage capacity of a GBA cart. That is assuming that the flash carts are the same capacity as regular GBA game carts. I don't know anything about how they work so that might not be a valid assumption anyway.
People who want to pirate are always going to find a way. It's such a small percentage of actual gamers that I don't see it doing much damage (although no game company will ever say that).

I look at it more from javeryh's perspective, SNES on the DS. It only makes sense as it features all the same buttons as the standard SNES controller. The GBA and PS2 market is overrun with piracy, but the games on those two systems still manage to sell the most.

If it's like that, people could use the Play Yen and it's flash based memory to put games on it. Also, just a matter of time.

Lol, yea emulating the DS on the computer is absolutly worthless. Without the touch screen......its nothing. But if there was a way to get, lets say a blank DS cart that you could load the games onto, that would be another story.

there is always going to be copying of games so any technology they encode the games with will eventualy be broken

They said something about 100 in 1 gb/gba catridges. Do they mean there's games out there with 100 games on them?? That'd be kick arse to find.

A DS cart is only 128MB (1Gb), and an average GBA flash cart is 256MB.

Sega tried that with the DreamCast and you know how well that went...
DC games were 950mb (The disks could hold 1gb, but 50mb was used for PC readable data.) CDs can only hold 700mb. To make them no fit, Sega added fake buffer tracks that would fill the disk. All they had to do was rip them out and remove the check for them. As for games that actually were that size, all they did was compress the textures or put them on two disks.
