I'm not really sure if Burnout would work all that well on the DS. The PSP version displays the intense speed perfectly, as the graphics are a big part of the Burnout fun. The analog stick also seems necessary, though I guess the touch screen could be a suitable substutute. Do you think Burnout could be done faithfully on the DS?

...my only (very odd) thought is being able to see a top down map, and tracing a route for a crash intersection and having the car follow that path....
Im not sure what i think actually...

Its good that its getting the game atleast. I'm sure its good for the DS only people.
Sadly though, I'm going with the PSP version on this one, its one of the main reasons I got a PSP.

Hmm I really don't want to see a graphical downgrade to Burnout, but if its fun thats all that matters. The controls wouldn't be the best either, touch screen control is iffy but I wouldn't mind sticking with the D-Pad. It would be cool if the buttom screen was like an Onstar type map, and it would warn you of cars coming up at intersections and such.

they could go many ways with the touch screen, but i JUST got Burnout 3: Takedown today for XBOX and the graphics is one of the things that ameks this game so god damn awesome. im not sure it could be done well on the DS. But then again, we haven't seen DS's full capabilitys yet. I though Super Mario 64 DS looked pretty. But im not sure, even if the DS was pushed to the edge, it could give the full burnout experience......but if it could that would be awesome. Im rooting for the DS right now!

As long as it looks semi-realistic, I'm there for some wifi Party Crash and Road Rage :)

I think the criterion guys definitely have the skillz to pull off something cool with the DS capabilities, but let's see if EA forces them to have an unpolished DS game.

It would be interesting to see them try. It may not please those used to the console version but the DS is in need of a racing game that wasn't a rushed early release. It may be far short graphically of the PSP and console versions but I think a lot better can be done in this genre on the DS than has been seen so far. At the same time, I'd like to see them try to utilize the DS feature set to compensate for the lesser graphic detail rather than just be the low end entry for the franchise.

When I heard that the PSP is going to have a Burnout game I only wished the DS could have it too. But thinking more elaborately, yea how would it work? The touch screen can be for a possibility of steering or yes a map. But having map, at least to me, would take out some element of surprise and fun. Or using the D-pad. Going back to er "old school" driving isn't that bad or nothing maybe not too many people would like it since they're use to an analog to race with. Graphics wouldn't be so so terrible.. (I haven't really seen the Xbox so that's probably a poor thought).
The idea of Burnout Legends being on DS sounds great, but applying it so it fits their system seems tricky. So really I want to say it can't be done on the DS. But hey I may never know.
