I have two roomates, and it might just be due to our living space, but they are sick and tired of how many games I own. I also have some other friends who come over and are rather impressed by my collection, and yet some more who are sad for me... I don't get that last one.

What do your friends say when they see your collection?

Most of my friends don't really know how many games I have. The only one that has a clue isn't really impressed or repulsed. He is pretty impressed at my thriftiness though. He jokes that I will buy an Xbox when it hits $10. I wish!!! :D He's a casual gamer for the most part, mostly going for Star Wars games but I have gotten him into other stuff too like Viewtiful Joe, Bloodrayne, and Eternal Darkness (yep...he only has a Gamecube). He knows how I am....I have alot of alot of stuff so it's kinda expected that I would have a lot of games.

I always wondered what girls would think when they saw all my systems... but I learned to not care. They either thought I had a lot of money or they didn't know what they were...

"Why do you have so many DVD players?"

I've been told to open up a game trading shop. I don't have anywhere near enough merchandise for that, though.

They think it's pretty sad, and I have to agree. :(

Too bad I don't have a game collection per say but I do have a lot of DVD's and I always laugh when my family and friends look at it and are amazed. (Collection is about 150 single disk movies and 30 box sets). It is actually my boyfriend's collection but I claim it cause I bought part of it for him.

"When are you gonna open half of these?"

I get this quote all too often, lol! Most of my friends are either impressed by the size of my collection, or they ridicule me for buying so many.

I looked at my collection around the beginning of the year and told myself that I was only going to purchase what I would play from then on. This year, I've only purchased:
1)Mercenaries
2)Forza
3)Fable
4)Super Smash N64
5)Ogre Battle N64
6)A few NES games

I've also started to thin out the games that I don't think I'll be playing, selling or trading off over 20 games since Jan. 1. What I've learned from my friends' comments is that I really will never have enough time to play all my games, so I might as well sell some and use the money elsewhere.

i hear " stop visiting cheapass, you have to many unopened games to play" ;)

We generally get "Wow, so you like movies?" To which we respond. "No, do you?"

Because the games are spread over two rooms its not such a shock, but generally people say "Have you played all of these?" And we occasionally get "What are you going to do when the next formats start coming out?" I answer that with: "Store them next to my laserdiscs..."

All of my old school stuff is crammed in my room so noone really sees it. Except... Uh.. for all the girls I have in there. Yeah, except for all of them *whew* had to think fast there.

All my friends are gamers, and since I have more games then they do, they are mostly envious.

Between the blindfold and the gag they don't see anything nor are they in a position to comment.

Heh, yeah, I get a lot of the "stop buying stuff you don't even open" comments, too. Thank goodness I didn't have to pay full price for the majority of them. I wonder if having my Cube games on my shelf with my PS2 and Xbox games instead of mini-wallets would even change people's reaction.

No one sees anything because I don't have my shit lying around everywhere or on a shelf for everyone to see.

I'm in the process of doing this as well.

I've got about 900 or so games, for all systems, and almost all of this stuff is complete, so I'm building a ton of shelves for the walk in closet to be able to store it safely and out of sight.

The room actually looks alot better like this, it's not a big avalanche of games piling up everywhere anymore.

My friends wonder why I keep buying shit when I've already got so much to play.

Mini-wallets sound like a good way to scratch your discs up as they slide in and out of the individual sleeves. These remind me of those third party GBA screen protectors that end up doing more damage than good.

Most of my friends go why are you wasting all that money on games you'll never play, you could trade them in or sell them. Then the usual argument about how hosed you get on trading and how selling gets at best a fraction of what you paid after awhile so they shut up and move on. Not to mention I play them all the time, people just assume over 100 games and no way you could play them.

They're all used to it so they just ask if I have anything new.

my collection isn't that huge, though I do own all 3 current systems.

most people-- "why?"

gamers-- "why'd you buy (insert various titles here), that game sucks."

me-- "one of these days I'll get around to (insert title here)"

Well, after seeing some of your game collections, mine feels like a little ant in comparison... but most of my gamer buds are just amazed. Most of the time it's not really comments on my games, it's comments on how they are organized. "Dude, you have them in alphabetical order by system? What's wrong with you?" One of my friends thinks I'm crazy, but he admits he only says it because he's jealous. I consider over 100 games a blessing, especially since I don't have a real job (I babysit, do chores, mow lawns, and get money for good report card grades, even though I'm still in high school). I applied at Chic-fil-a a few weeks ago, but nothing yet. I really wish I could get a job, I need more games. :D

I didn't even know they made that many xbox and dreamcast games, why don't you own a PS2 ?

I get that too. Fuckin' savages with their unorganized games. (at least until I take care of it for them)

My friends don't act surprised. My wife's friends constantly say "Wow, I should come over here to borrow some!"

I then pull a Johnny Cage uppercut on them, run over to my computer and turn on the Mortal Kombat song.
