No thanks, getting a game thats been opened and touched by hundreds of people, with a bunch of pricetags on the case isn't my idea of new. that's the reason why I go to the store and specifically ask for sealed copies, not their floor copies. if it's a rare game and the floor copy is the only one left, I take a good hard look at the disc before buying it. it really pisses me off that EB opens up a factory sealed game and then tries to resell it as new, leaving on the original factory strip after it's been slit w/ a razor, then resealing it w/ their own machines. I was particularly pissed when some of the ones I received a few months back from ebgames.com were actually floor copies.

there was actually one EB B&M store near me selling a game w/ all sorts of crap on the disc, and the guy told me I could just clean it off. yeah, cuz that's why I'm buying it "new", right? :evil: :evil: :evil:

Oh, about the floor copies. I remember buying a new copy of Super Mario Sunshine for 29.99. As I got to my car, I saw a receipt in the game. I went back to exchange the game for a new copy and the female working there was such an ass. She gave me dirty lirty looks and even tried to convince me that the game was still "new". What really pisses me off is the fact that the tellers constantly sell me re-sealed games. I must spend at least fifty dollars a week at EB and they still hand me re-sealed games even if they have a factory sealed copy. I got to the point where I only cared about the condition of the cd. Why do these workers at EB constantly give me dirty looks when I ask for a factory sealed game. WHY..WHY...

most of the employees at the EBs I visit now know that I'll usually only take a factory-sealed copy of their new games. I always ask about their remaining "new" stock, and if they only have 1, then you can almost count on it being a floor copy. I appreciate that they realize I'm picky about it, but I'm still infuriated by this "policy".

I have been lucky so far with getting sealed games from EB on these cheap games. WSB 2K3, ESPN Final Round Golf and New Legends were all factory sealed. Shadowman 2nd coming was not.

"Pristine" and "floor copy" can't really be mentioned in the same sentence when you're talking about EB. :D

Did you have them scan it? Most of the time they are tagged incorrectly, but the right price will be in the computer.

Yeah, I even bought it but then thought it over and would rather wait until I see it for 10 and save some money so I promptly returned it. The clerk did mention something about joining their eb card club thing and if I signed up, it would knock 10 bucks off bombastic, the problem is, it costs 10 bucks to join, so I would be out 10 dollars I would rather not spend

the recent price changes seem to be temporary, as I found out when I tried to buy an XBox Robotech CE, and they'd changed the price to $25 instead of $10, which it was selling for the previous day.

once a price change goes into effect, it apparently changes for all the stores. unless an employee is willing to honor an old pricetag, you're gonna pay whatever is in the main EB computer.

I saw the actual price list w/ the change to $25, that's just how EB does it. seems like you have to be pretty quick, unless its a universal price drop.

unfortunately, I don't think you'd be able to get it price-matched. the store you're trying to price-match at would call EB, and they'd say it's their current price, which is more expensive.

Yeah I went to a couple EB's today and found a CE but it was marked and rang up at 21.99. Damn, one day too late. I walked past the same store two days ago but didn't realize it was ebgames because its an "EBX" store. Must be an "extreme" ebgames.

They put things on a crazy sell to move merchandise that hasn't been selling well to the company as a whole. If you hear of a sell here at either store and want that title, go out today and get it. Most of the time they raise it once they have sold so many. I remember picking up Nightfire and Rygar for 5 a piece and they went up in price the next day.[/u]

Checked Dual Blade for GBA yesterday...I bought it a few days ago for $2.99(and it wasn't even worth that much, but I traded it in to a local store for $10), but the price has gone back up to $10.99. The guy looked at me like I was an alien when I told him I'd paid only $2.99 for it at that same store just a few days before.

Robotech was by far the best deal I got out of these price drops. Dark Cloud is all right, but after you boot up Dark Cloud 2, you'll never want to see the first one again.
