View Full Version : Starship Troopers: Terran Ascendancy
Being an avid Starship Troopers fan, I've always wondered if there was ever a Starship Troopers game produced. After heavy digging, I founda marvellous RTS, Starship Troopers: Terran Ascendancy. Nearly shitting my trousers, I began searching for this elusive gem, but couldn't find anything except the demo, released before the game. If any of you could find this game, completely patched and playable, I'd be forever grateful.

A starship troopers game was released, I'm pretty sure copies are available on ebay. I believe work on a second game was also started.

There coming out with an FPS in a few months. Looks pretty good. Takes place a few years after the first game.

As said, if they can get the frame rate locked solid, it should be pretty good in a mindless Serious Sam-but-with-bugs kind of way...

Does this version work on XP, or does it malfunction on XP like the fellow said earlier?

To be honest, although I've downloaded it, I haven't played it yet. A quick search through the HOTU forums shows that there may well be some XP problems, but it didn't really offer any solutions. My advice would be to download it and try it out for yourself. If it doesn't work, you could try troubleshooting it, either by messing around with it yourself, asking for some CAG help, or by Googling for help. It'd probably be the easiest way of finding out whether or not the game works, and it could save you a lot of potential headaches if you were able to find a physical copy of the game but were unable to get it to work.

I've always wanted to play this game, but I totally forgot to pick it up when it was out. Thanks OP for the reminder. Anyone know how well that one link to it that somebody posted plays out? Does it work well on XP? This game sounds great. OP, if you download it and try it out from the link posted, please posted saying whether or not it works and how well.

Just tried it out, and it worked fine on XP. Kind of ironic, since none of the last three games I've been wanting to play on my cpu have worked right.

Phew... Good to know Zman. Most people know of my many computer issues  so I was extremely hesitant to try it out. Now I'll give it a shot.

Righto, thanks a lot. I would have downloaded it for you guys, but I'm not at home. I definitely plan on DLing it once I get home. I saw a plain Starship Troopers game from a British seller on Ebay, I wonder how it is.. I'll check IGN.
Hmm, something tells me these two games are very different:
Starship Troopers

Starship Troopers
(http://pc.ign.com/objects/568/568303.html)At any rate, I can't wait for the newer game to come out. I'll probably be getting it for XBox. I notice in one of the screenshots, you carry an advanced Morita, seen at the end of the film, blowing up a moutain, as I recall. It certainly looks underpowered in that shot. ;)
A sneakily disguised bump- and another request, albeit a bit OT. I'm looking at movie props from Starship Troopers, personally the Morita smargun. Everything I've seen is either a cheap rubber prop, or a fiberglass model, both running above $750. I want one less for the collector's value, but rather to have a model of such a fine weapon. If you guys know of any modelers who make cheap, but fairly decent versions of the Morita, or airsoft, laser, toy variants, drop me a PM.

I don't know what it was called, I've never heard of Terran Ascendancy. What I do know is that 3 Starship Trooper games have been made. A few years after the movie both a computer game and an online only game were created, then in the last few years a new game has been in the works and it appears it might finally be released.

The ones I know of are:
Starship Troopers (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=11047&item=8200102380&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW) I can't tell what this is, but it could be a mis-titled Acendancy
Starship Troopers: (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=11047&item=8200102380&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW)Terran Acendancy (http://pc.ign.com/objects/003/003134.html) An RTS that I plan on downloading. Not great.
Starship Troopers: Battlespace An awesome AOL online-only game. A top-down flight game, I played this for hours as a kid. I wish this were still available from Mythic.
Starship Troopers (http://pc.ign.com/objects/003/003134.html) The new game. Although the demo movie gave me doubts, I think they can pull off a great game eventually.
