I've been to two different EB's and I've noticed that Psychonauts was in a black case instead of the standard green ones. These were new copies. Do all of the copies of Pschonauts come in a black case?

well...the ps2 version just got released...
and the xbox version comes in a green case...
It was the Xbox version.
Both were display copies, so maybe EB switched them around...

I have the Xbox version of Psychonauts and it is in a green case.

To my knowledge, EB was not allowed to gut copies of Psychonauts (not sure why) so they used the "Coming Soon" display cases to stick on the shelf. I'm not sure if this is something new they're trying or what, but that's why it was in a black case.
If you're talking about behind the glass and sealed up, then I have no explanation.

That's most likely it.
Once at GameRush, I saw a display copy of Forza with case from Gran Turismo 4 with the spine label still attached.

The reason why is it in a black case, is because there is a contest with the XB version. If you find a gold disc you could win a million dollars or something. Thus all EB's used empty display cases for the game as a "gut", so it would be fair to everybody.

That might be it, sorta like Advent Rising..
