2 days, 2 book stores, 2 Transformers encounters.

I'm getting married in June so the future Mrs. CheapyD and I went to the book store on Sunday to check out some books on flower arrangements. The flower section just happened to be about 1 foot away from the buy 2 get 1 free bargain rack in which I found a box of Transformers stickers. It was pretty funny when the cashier was trying to contain her laughter at the 6'4" 30 year old man buying Transformers sticker.

CD: "You're smiling because I'm buying these stickers, right? They aren't for me, they are like for my cousin or something (clearly lying)."

Clerk: "Hmmm...(to my fiancee) should I believe him? I was trying to think if you look like a guy who has these toys at home."

CD: "Yeah, well...its buy 2 get 1 free and I needed another free item or something... Ok. fine, I have a whole bag of these toys at home...happy? (laughing)"

I think she was just jealous that I was getting married and was "off the market".

Yesterday, we went to another bookstore, in which the flower arrangement books just happened to be next to the Antique/Collectibles section. This book immediately caught my attention:

So as my fiancee read the flower books, her 30 year old dorktastic man learned about the history of Cybertron.

The book was pretty cool, but I'm an old school TF fan, so half of the book didn't really interest me (Beast Masters, Head Masters, etc...)

Btw, im not sure if you knew this, but all the Rerelease Transformers in the TRU's that I have visited are priced at 19.99 instead of 29.99. When they hit 9.99-14.99 they are definetely mine. Altough its been hard to resist buying Jazz and Prowl, especially since my Prowl got stepped on and broke :(.

That's what makes Cheapy's story funny. It's the unexpected. It's the fact he's there in the store, older than some one would think one should be buying stickers with a hot chick and a big bald head.

Now I am afraid that the centerpieces of the tables for the wedding may end up with transformers in them… It’s already bad enough that we are considering a song from Rez for our first dance song… The theme of our wedding: cheap and dorky! :wink:

yeah some of the TRU Gen 1 Transformers have diped in price, They had 3 of the jets and all had different prices. One was $35, one was $30 and one was $25. I was temped to buy one but I'm just too low on cash right now. I hope they dip in price some more soon.

I've also seen that box of Tranformers Stickers at Boarders. They have the new armada ones and the old school ones. I liked the old school ones because it was the art that used to be on the boxes of the toys. But What would I do with so many stickers ?
