Is Gamestop.com the only website that lets you search for games in-store?

I'm looking for a bunch of games, and I'm all Gamestopped out.

There's usually an option to the right of the price on ebgames.com

example: http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/product/245167.asp

Best Buy, CC, Compusa all have the feature.

CC does? It was my understanding that they didn't allow in-store pickup of games and movies and by extension didn't show store stock.

Hmm you're right. In-store only works for accessories.

That only works if EBGames online site has the game in stock.

If it dosen't, they pull the complete listing, not allowing you to search any of their stores.

Which greatly complicates finding rare games at EBGames B&Ms. Is there any business logic to them pulling the listing? Does if limit the number of questions they have to answer?

Hmmm, the manager at my Gamestop says that the online inventory means nothing. He told me that it is an "ideal" inventory that the store would have. He says the online inventory for our store means nothing and to not believe anything it says for used games.

Of course, he may be lying....he may be wrong....he could be hoarding the good games, but since I was looking for Parasite Eve 2 at the time, I kinda doubt it.

Who knows?

It's BS when they tell you that... it gets updated often enough, I think at least once a week I've noticed, but it takes a few days for a game to come out of the system. Meaning if someone bought that Parasite Eve 2 on Wednesday, it could very well show up as still being in stock on Friday, when it's actually gone.

The excuse the manager gave you is the lazy worker excuse. I've used the Gamestop store locator numerous times to find LOTS of rare / hard to find games, and it has only failed me twice out of 20 + times.

It also dosen't take into account lost, stolen, or stuff that just never got scanned out properly, like scratched stuff that was sent back.

Yeah, I mean I work for the Stop too...I know it works. It takes a day or 2 to update itself though...as for saying it is an "ideal" inventory...

He's just an idiot.

What store wouldnt "ideally" want 50 copies of Rez?
