It says its an OEM drive and that you must select the Nero software with all OEM drives, which adds an additional $6.99. Can an order be placed without adding the software?

select "Required if an OEM CD-RW Drive is selected" instead and it wont show up on the final bill. I was doing some research and this kinda made me a bit leery on the whole thing

I just bought it 2 days ago, a pain to use w/ Ridata 4X DVD-RW, their firmware B101 is not even working w/ the drive. When I think on the Panasonic website, it's said the service is important and they release a firmware that is not well tested before. What a joke!!! I did not expect such a poor service from a cie like Panasonic.

Furthermore, for a new hardware release (Jan 2005) they cannot used DVD-RW 4x, I find it very pitiful.
