Seriously, spending money to research this bullshit instead of finding a cure for Cancer? Video Gamers who have fast eyes are probably overweight due to prolonged game playing, maybe they should fund that study.

Odd that I've read a similar research result like 2 years ago with studies done on first person shooters.

After playing FPS for like, 10+ years, I can say that I'm more aware of the environment around me, but has no real advantage unless the environment puts me into the test, which rarely happens, if ever. I just play games for the enjoyment, not to gain any ability.

And even tho 100 milliseconds may sound small (1/10 of a second), just remember that a car going 75 miles/hr travels 11 feet per 100 millisecond. Sometimes that 11 feet is all you need to avoid a crash.

There's always some kind of umm interesting reseach like these. Like eyes are sharper, hands have more dex, reactions are faster etc etc. I rememeber just overhearing people saying "those who play video games are better drivers, that's why girls can't drive because they can't game" somewhere along those lines.

Also I never really get how video gamers are overweight.... unhealthy.. yes.. but overweight? Well that just me.. I guess.

Overweight? Wow. I mean, I might be an excuse (I play games almost exclusively instead of other activities and I'm very underweight) but only one gamer I know has been overweight, and that is because of his genes, not his gaming.
