The Halo 2 Maptacular Pack with 5 new maps is available for download right now, and I am downloading it as I type this. I've barely played since the last maps were released, but I am excited.
Has anyone else gotten this yet? It's $11.99, with the maps becoming free on August 30th, for those who don't already know.

Very strange. All the other GameFAQs guys from SoCal who have posted said they have NOT been able to download the maps, yet I have. Too bad no one's on to play on them...

they release the map to parts of the country at different times...i think this is so everyone won't be on at the same time and kill the servers.

I'm picking mine up at Circuit City for $14.99. I would download it, but I really like getting the case and disc.

My only question is, has anyone picked up the disc in stores today? If so, what stores? I am thinking about hitting up my local Target and Meijer, 30 minutes away and don't feel like dealing with morons in the electronics departments on the phone. Thanks in advance.
I'd rather have the disc with the extras, than just downloading these maps.

That sucks, I don't want to pay $32 (disc and dl) and get the same things. But I really want to play on the maps today, and get the bonus stuff with the disc. Decisions, decisions.

maps have not been implanted into matchmaking yet so it doesnt amtter when you get them.

Well if you want to play and enjoy them in custom games, it matter greatly. Well only if a bunch of your friends are getting it as well.

If Bungie would've thought about it, they would've shipped the discs out on Friday, so that they'd arrive in store today. But then again, they do know there will be a few people "double dip" on the payment. And in that, they have succeeded. I will eventually pick up the disc, but that will probably be in a few months when its nearly worthless, except for the extras.

They said it (the disc and download) would be released on Tuesday. They pushed the release date to Tuesday. They did it all intentionally.

Honestly, if people are downloading the map pack today and still buying the disc because they can't wait until tomorrow they probably don't mind or deserve to pay twice. It's not like Halo is going away soon and if Bungie wanted to get people to pay twice I think they'd spread it out farther than a DAY.

Well, with the disc, I'm getting additional content, so it's not exactly the same. And I'm using my credit card by the way. Thanks for coming out though.

Does anyone know if multiple people can use the disc to download the maps onto their Xboxes? If they can it'd be much cheaper to buy the disc at CC. I know two other people that would rather go this route and mooch off of my disc.

I thought I would be all over this. But considering how I havent played in over a week anyway, I don't know how quick I need them.
This is partially inspired by the fact that EB dropped SC:CT's trade in value from 17 to 10 the day I was going to trade it in and put a full reserve on the map pack... it is also inspired by a general disdain for playing with anyone besides my existing friends whom have not been on live at all this summer. I don't know, by the time I go back to school Aug. 30th, I could DL them for free...
still, i'll probably buy it used in a few weeks for a fraction of the price. or rent it.

4 of them (Turf, Warlock, Sanctuary, and Containment) are already available for free download at this moment. The other 5 will become free for download sometime in August.

It's in the CC ad for this week. Supposedly won't be available until Thursday. PM-able at BB for $14.50.

I'm actually getting my local Gamestop to pricematch it. I mentioned the sale price to one of the employees and they said that they still do price matches for small differences, like $5 to $10, and just to bring in the ad when I pick up the game. Very nice guys.
