I have Lunar for GBA and I'm thinking about picking up the games for a set-top console. Can anyone tell me if the Playstation remakes did the originals (what was it, Sega CD?) justice? Getting the Playstation ones would definately be more convenient than buying a new classic system.

yea, the company did the translation for Sega CD Lunar also did it for PS.
I played both and personally i like the PS Lunar better.
The main story is about the same, you should just get the PS version of Lunar.

They changed a LOT of things. The basic storyline remains overall fairly similar barring a few smaller changes, and the battle system, while trimmed down a bit in terms of number of magic spells, remains basically the same as well. I like the PSX version better because I'm not biased towards the Sega CD one. The main thing that people will notice in the PSX Lunars is that the overworld is much, much smaller, with no random encounters. In fact, all random encounters were removed for a Xenosaga-style "see the enemies? run like hell!" kind of approach. I'd go with the PSX versions since they're cheaper. Unless you happen to have a working Sega CD sitting around. Edit: Which I guess you don't, according to the OP.
