Here's the entertainment software listings from the Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW), Houston (HOU), Chicago (IL), Los Angeles/Orange County (LA), San Jose/Silicon Valley (SJ), and Washington state (WA) Fry's Ad(s). These prices are valid only for the dates listed in the subject line.

The items listed below are as they appear in the Fry's Ads. If an item is listed as "SJ only", for example, it could still be on sale at other locations (i.e. - Austin, Sacramento, San Diego, AZ, GA, IN, NV, OR), but it only appeared in the SJ ad. However, since these ads are not available online, I cannot confirm them.

If anyone knows of a website to view any further ads, please let me know.

Unless otherwise indicated, items below are listed in all six (DFW, HOU, IL, LA, SJ, and WA) ads.

Nice price on Jade Empire - in the DFW area, it's advertised at $19.99, which makes it all the sweeter! Too bad I got it when it came out, but it was worth the 3-5 games I traded in for it! :)

What do you guys think of that DDR game w/ 2 pads? I've never played DDR in my life, but............. I could try it out... in my room...with the blinds closed.... and the lights off.

<.<

It seriously could be really fun! Seriously! I'm really thinking about it. I could do some games in my room and maybe my brother wil join in. yeah!

So anybody have experience with those HVG2 Pads? I have no idea if they're good or not.

Why does Illinois always gets the shaft?

If by the shaft, you mean, why is it the IL ad is always missing, then the reason is that the only sources I've found for finding the IL ad are 2 different websites...one is DSLReports, where someone typically posts the Friday ads, and nothing else. The second is a Vietnamese forum where one person is kind enough to post the ads, but the fact is that he's been unavailable to post of late due to personal reasons and not too many people are picking up the slack.

What do you guys think of that DDR game w/ 2 pads?

So anybody have experience with those HVG2 Pads? I have no idea if they're good or not.

I bought a DDR game and dance pad for PS1. IMHO, while I bought it with good intentions...in general, I felt stupid playing it by myself. It sort of demands a group esthetic and lots of drinking. Rather like karaoke.

The HVG pads on sale this time are similar to the pad I bought, these folding "fabric" ones just don't hold up sometimes, and you find them shifting around beneath you, which makes it difficult to watch the screen and to estimate where the pads should be. IMHO, one of the solid pads (the ones which don't fold up) are a better approximation of the real game. But with that said, Fry's deals for the solid pads tend to run in the $100+ region...

And do you think the price is good for DDR and 2 pads?

It seems to me that Fry's runs this sale every other month or so with various permutations on the dance pads or the DDR version. I've seen it cheaper during the Black Friday or other holiday sales, but this is fairly standard for them.

I'm a little upset with myself for not catching this ad earlier. If I would have known Arc The Lad: EoD was on sale yesterday for $29.99, I would have driven 2 hours to a Fry's just to get it. I'm really addicted to the game online and I really want to buy it, since I'm only renting right now. I really hope it goes on sale again.

There are some very durable foam mats at Level Six (http://www.levelsix.com/index.php?cPath=21&osCsid=ee7bf5d54b4991d61084572f4cd640cf) for both Xbox, PS2, and PC. They are around in the $40 dollar range. I've bought one from them about a year ago, and it's way better than the thin ones. The thin cheap ones (which that site also sells) also tend to mess up within a few months because of the constant banging. The foam ones can last for a much longer time. I'm still able to use mine, though I'll admit I don't play that frequently.

Anyway, just another alternative to mats.

My understanding is that most stores already have NCAA (some for nearly a week), they just aren't allowed to sell it until tomorrow. So Fry's, like most other places, should be selling the game when they open their doors.

I picked up NCAA today in Plano for the Xbox. They were sold out of the PS2 though for those of you who were wanting that version. Also, I noticed that Astro Boy for the GBA was $14.99. It got really good praise from various sites/mags and was all the incentive I needed to pick it up.

Usually they have 2-3 cases of games locked up in steal cages. If they don't have any on display you should just ask.
