I thought I'd warn all the CAGs to not pick up Fable since Fable: the Lost Chapters is coming to Xbox for $19.99 . This is an updated version of the original Fable that came out last year.

Nice! I've been waiting to get Fable for a low price, and $20 (or less) with some nice extra content sounds like just what I've been waiting for.

lol, at this point, I'm just not ever going to pick up any of Xbox's games when they first come out, since better versions seem to hit for much lower price point. I guess the same could be said for Hideo Kojima's games, as well.

First Ninja Gaiden, now Fable... I wonder what's next?

And it sucks for me, since I bought both games at close to MSRP back in the day, since I didn't think video game companies barely ever double dipped like DVD releases do.

I was going to get this for PC, but might as well just get it for Xbox.

I wonder if these "Uncut" versions, so to speak, will become the norm in a few years? Release a game for 50, then bring out another version with added stuff at 20 - 30 dollars.

I'm glad you confirmed this. I heard rumors about this for awhile.

Also, it's being released as a PH...

Great deal for those that never played it yet...however, I doubt I'd pick it up since I have the original...

hopefully this means that they lower the price on the PC version.

Doubtful.

This is the first time it's ever been on PC - I wouldn't be surprised if they keep the price at 49.99.

I don't think this is really comparable to DVD double-dipping, which angers me to no end. Both of those games were going to become GH eventually. Would you rather have Fable become a GH with no additional content, or would you rather they throw in some extra stuff? Yeah, it's a bit of a bitch if you already bought it; but if you were that big a fan to buy it on release, then I imagine it wouldn't be too hard to justify a $20 purchase, especially since you can relieve yourself of the old copy to recoupe some f the expense.

The $30 NG:B price does anger me a bit though. Isn't it just NG with the Hurricane pack that you can get for free online? If there's more content beyond that, then $30 is somewhat justifiable. But if it's just the HP, then it really ought to be $20.

The kind of game double-dipping that pisses me off is the shit Square pulls in Japan. More often than not, the Japanese version will release first, with the US version following by a few months. More than a few times, Square has add some extra content for the US release, and then re-release the updated version in Japan at FULL price.

I have no problem with this. If I like a game as much as Ninja Gaiden, then they decide to release a huge update a year and half later after I've beaten the thing backwards and forwards....more power to them. but it's gotta be a MAJOR expansion. none of this "deleted scenes" shit.

I am a sucker, so I wll probably end it up buying this. I hope there is a deal that will make it less than 20.

I'm definitely getting this as I've been wanting to get Fable, but have been holding off after hearing of the Lost Chapters coming out for PC. At $20, it's a great deal to get this updated edition of Fable.

Ninja Gaiden Black also has new stuff like new enemies and weapons. More important, it will have a easy mode and a even harder mode. I am fine with this kind of upgrade at $20 as long as they pull a MGS2:S (sold for full price with little extra on PS2).

I wish they had made the Lost Chapters update available online for the Live users, something like what Team Ninja did... would've been nice, I'm not coughing up $20 bucks for a couple of extra missions...

I bought fable for 49.99 as well this is almost as bad as buying GTA:SA for the xbox when you own it on PS2 and have 100+ hours into the PS2 version.

The lost chapters??

Don't they mean the chapters that were promised long ago but were never put in until now so they could get you to buy the game again??

I have no problems buying again, I enjoyed it the first time around and sold it to get my money back. So 20 bucks for more is a good thing.

Microsoft should let us with the "classic" Fable swap it for a new one for free.

I don't really mind since this is just a few instances in the state to sell an updated version of a game and then charging it less. ...... Yes, I already pre-order in full for Ninja Gaiden Black. Now I could finnaly play this game and have it in my collection.

The way I prefer to look at it is that the developers cared enough to go back to a finished product and tweak it to make it better. I can definitely appreciate it given the low price point as well.

I would say so.. Look at the sheer amount of sequels arriving on a monthly basis. This industry is based upon the success of the franchise.. so why not re-release games with some added "content" and charge the same asking price as the previous installment? Heh.. I love gaming.

I don't know, japan doesn't really count since they have been doing this for a while. I mean, what amounts of sequel come out every month?
