Ok, I won a auction from a guy and he guaranteed me that it would work and once I received it it worked for awhile but now it doesnt work at all. I emailed him alot but he has yet to return any emails to me. I gave him a positive but is their a way I can changed it to a negative?

How is it that it's his fault if it worked for a while after you got it but now its broken? Unless he knew it was going to break soon?

Considering you have Quagmire for your avatar, I'm quite curious as to what this "item" is ;)

AFAIK, eBay feedback cannot be changed once posted, unless there is some kind of petition process that eBay has available. But as the previous poster mentioned, unless he knew it was going to break then there is no foul... and it would be pretty much impossible to prove.

If something breaks soon after the person should give you a refund. If they don't give you a refund then you should give them a negative.

How long did it work for anyway?

Unfortunately, I don't think they let you change feedback.

If it worked when you recieved, it is not the sellers problem. I am sure he did not promise you it would work for a certain amount of time. What is the item?

I emailed him alot ...

oooooh, I LOVE it when people email me a lot. especially after they leave a positive feedback. Makes me think they're trying to scam me.

You should tell us what the item is and give a link to the listing, unless, of course, you're afraid of being judged to harshly. I say it's all YOUR fault until you give us more evidence.

It's not the Seller's fault that you got stuff all over the porno vid, and now it's so sticky, it won't work.

But, if you really insist, you could leave a second follow-up to your feedback.

This is your only option as far as feedback goes. You can post a follow-up with something like "Wish I could change this to neg, item broke shorty after arrival and seller unwilling to help!"

Really won't do much though.

People chill. I won a vectrex system and the seller told me before I bid that it was in top notch shape and its in top almost mint shape. Well I received the item a month later (he said that he was very busy thats why he sent it late) and I used it twice and now the system doesnt work at all.

Did you pay through Paypal (and a credit card)?

Paypal requires sellers to ship within 7 days of payment so you got the seller there. You could always do a chargeback through Paypal or go through a credit card chargeback (if you used a cc) if that won't work.

Normally I wouldn't suggest that right away but since you said the seller is ignoring you, I would go ahead and try that

I still don't think it's the Seller's fault.
-it was working
-it was in near-mint condition

The Seller met the conditions of the sale. I know you're disappointed that the Vectrex broke, but that's not the Seller's problem. That's just life. Deal with it.

If it was in near mint condition why the heck did it stop working after two play sessions. Also at the price I paid for it I expected it to last longer. And you wouldnt be saying that if it was your money.

Brand new items can break as well....and this is a 20 year old system. Sorry, I can't see this being the sellers problem since it was not DOA.

I agree with gizmogc, its very unlikely that he knew it was going to break before hand. My friend had a turbo Express that was taken care of. He had it in my closet for a little bit with no batteries in. And he took it out to how me and it just didnt work. Does the unit not power on at all?

I had a Master Sytem I bought on ebay die on me after a couple weeks, though it played perfectly prior to that. I cursed my rotten luck, but its nothing the seller could have possibly known about, because the system itself appeared in good shape, even after opening it up.

The old electronics die. Its a fact. Even if your Vectrex system was straight out of a never opened box, due to its age, I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't work properly.

Oh well. I guess I can go to a repair shop to see if they know whats the problem.

YES, I'd be upset, but I wouldn't place the blame on the seller. I'd place the blame on the electronics' age. The other day my favorite Atari cart stopped working. It's nobody's fault. It's just age.

The seller advertised a working Vectrex. That's what you got. That's the end of the seller's obligation..... it's now *your* property and *your* responsibility. Not his.

Now if I was in your shoes, I'd sell the broken Vectrex on ebay. Advertise it as a "parts only" machine. Lots of collectors like to buy old equipment, in order to secure obsolete ICs.
