So I was watchin an episode of Cinematech Wed night and they had a clip of Dead Phoenix playing, and it said cancelled. I thought it looked pretty cool for being early in development. After they showed the trailer they said something about being not dead yet and something about coming in 2005. I was wondering if anyone else have seen this or had any other info about this?

Thats pretty cool. Maybe Capcom has secretly been working on it.
Was it the original trailer or a new one?

it was the original one and it still looked pretty slick. I could see it as a next gen title, I just wish I could find out more info. I really doubt that cinematech was lyin, but who knows

I wish Capcom would say something if it is indeed no longer cancelled.
And it does look like a cool game.

What better way to stress the title than to 'kill' the game and bring it back from the dead....

I have not heard of this game... what's it about?

Oh - the fifth of Capcoms "Five Exclusive GameCube games" (That turned out well). Aren't there still two that never showed up? I only remember Viewtiful Joe, PN.03, and RE4 being part of it. If you saw a trailer recently, something could be happening with it...

Killer 7 was/is also part of the Capcom 5. Dead Phoenix was the only one cancelled.

Dead Phoenix was scrapped but N wanted Capcom to pick it back up and redo it with a Nintendo franchise. Don't know what happened to it really.

There were rumors that it was being converted into a next-gen Kid Icarus.......

Either way, the game looks tight.

I saw that episode of "CinemaTech" as well... What they meant by the Phoenix being "resurrected in 2005" was the release of two other games this year that also have the word "Phoenix" in them: "Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney" for the DS and "Iron Phoenix" for the X-Box.

At least, that was my interpretation of what they were trying to say...

It kind of reminded me of a next gen Legendary Wings, but I'll take a next gen Kid Icarus as well.
