i am thinking about buying the halo 2 map pack however i heard that you can just save the maps to your xbox...is this true? i dont have xbox live and i want the maps but if you can save them onto your hard drive then i would just go rent it from blockbuster instead.. any comments would be great!

Yes it downloads right to the hard drive. Traded mine the same day I got it. No real need to keep it. I didn't even think about renting......DUH.

My friend and I split the cost of the Halo 2 Map Pack disc. We then shared it with our other friends for $5. *laughs* It's a win/win situation!

No chance on renting it - at least not for me. I checked Blockbuster, hollywood and even some local rental shops...
The only reason to keep it would be to dump it on another box or in case something happens to your system.
But it does dump to your hard drive where it stays.
One of the guys in my clan was kind enough to send his copy around to those that needed it - we just had to ship it to the next person on the list. So I got mine for free.

It's not out for rent.
Some CAG'er should do that, just ship it around for free. I wouldn't mind getting it and i'd gladly ship it off to someone else on the list

Just a quick note: another reason to keep the disc is for the 360. Theoretically, you will be able to downlod all the maps for free on Live by the time the 360 comes out, but who knows how that will work... Also, for those people with plans to get a 360 but who cannot get broadband internet service, the disc might be the only way to get the maps.
Just a thought.

I was thinking the same thing but buy the time the 360 comes out hopefully it will be easy to find cheap used versions of the map expansion or maybe even rentals.
