How hard did you "search" the internet?

well, on a more constructive note...
i have this adaptor:

www.x2vga.com

and i love it. the picture displays in the highest possible progressive scan; i can't even play on my sony 32" flatscreen anymore (too blurry in comparison). if you have a nice monitor, its probably the best $65 you can spend on your xbox. highly recommended.

The X2VGA is good, and the Vdigi VD-Z3 is also good. They are the only two that let you use HD resolutions from your Xbox, on your monitor. The X2VGA only lets you use an Xbox, while the VD-Z3 will let you use any device that uses component outputs and that does at least 480p, including progressive scan dvd players, ps2, HD tuners, etc.

They cost a little more, but they're more than worth it. Don't try and save $20 and get some piece of crap, the image will look horrible.

i was looking at that, i have a 19inch viewsonic crt, about 3 months old,

it should work great on it?

what did you do about sound?

i might have your exact same monitor; i have the viewsonic p95f+. games look insanely awesome on it. my friend and i played halo 2 downstairs on my sony tv this weekend, and after 6 months of playing xbox games on my monitor, i couldn't believe how crappy games looked on my tv.

i have logitech speakers and they plug into the x2vga. the x2vga has both a standard computer speaker input and an optical input. if you want surround sound you'll have to use the optical input. i only have stereo speakers, so i just use the standard jack.

i'm not familiar with the Vdigi VD-Z3, but if it works with all 3 consoles and the picture looks good you might want to research it, as well (hell, if it works well for gamecube, i might even check it out). but as far as playing xbox games on your pc monitor, like i said before, i really can't recommend the x2vga enough.

It works for Gamecube if the game supports progressive scan, and if you have the component cables.

It handles audio through either optical cables, or standard RCA jacks. You could use headphones or computer speakers with a 99 cent adapter.

The picture quality of both the adapters is about equal. They're both good products. Just pick the one that best suits your needs.

I can't count the number of times poor dafoomie has had to answer this question.

salating-
i read the review of the Vdigi VD-Z3 here:

http://hardware.teamxbox.com/articles/xbox/934/VDigi-Electronics-Enhanced-VDZ3-Review/p1/

and it sure sounds awesome. while i do love my x2vga, if i hadn't bought it already i would probably buy the Vdigi VD-Z3. it sounds like it delivers the same picture quality, but its even more diverse than the x2vga (since you can hook up a ps2, gamecube or progressive scan dvd player to it). just a thought.
