wmv to dvd converter

I need some help badly. I downloaded some game clips from Ign.com and they are in .wmv format. I would like to take these files and burn them onto a dvd. But from my understanding you must convert the .wmv files to dvd format in order for the files to play on a dvd player. I have found some converters but they are for purchase only. I was wondering if anyone could help me out and knows of a program that would allow me to convert my .wmv videos to dvd for free. Thank you and all help is appreciated.

Just google in video converter. something like this.

wmv to mpeg4 conversion.

if you can't find something free then download a one that has a free trial and do it that way.
