I closed the window as soon as I saw what the title bar said...

As I've said before, I don't have a problem with people being overweight. This, though, crosses the line...

It's just an article. It's not like there are any pictures to get offended by or anything. Besides, there are some attractive plus sized models out there (and attractive plus sized women in general), so I don't see what the big deal is at all.

Attractive + Plus Size = Oxymoron

We're not in the Renaissance anymore. The perception of beauty has changed. Change is good.

Maybe I'm just skittish, but seeing the phrase "plus-sized thongs" and not knowing whether or not pics would be included scared me.

And yes, there are attractive plus sized women...but on the internet, "overweight" tends to mean "grossly overweight" in the majority of cases. *shudders*

Hey now, big girls need loving too. Oh wait a minute...Ms. Kathy Bates...hi...but....ah no a plus thong! It burns, the goggles they do nothing!!

Edit: "And yes, there are attractive plus sized women...but on the internet, "overweight" tends to mean "grossly overweight" in the majority of cases. *shudders*"

Actually when someone on the internet says they are "thick" in the right parts...that really means they are grossly overweight.

I have no problem with big women so long as it's not to the point of unhealthiness. The problem is Americans are pretty obese lately and I'd say the majority of them have difficulty distinguishing what's flattering on them as opposed to what's flattering on models.

You guys wouldn't know what to do with a "real woman" (i.e. thick in the right places). Skinny, fake boob having "girls" just don't cut it.

r1s3n what kind of injury do you fake in a situation like that? does she lay on top of you and say she crushed your ribs or you fake a hamstring pull? just curious to what the injury was

Whereas I'm sure everyone here could give Brad Pitt or Tom Cruise a run for their money.
I agree, we are as a society tending toward 'grossly obese,' which is certainly bad. But the Kate Moss, Dachau-victim look is also as bad, and disgusting to me. I'm not saying I think all women should look like Bridget, but I certainly don't mind a little flesh on the bones. Besides, gives more to grab into, and I'd rather bounce into flesh than pokey bones when holding someone.
And I'm also not a hypocrite--I could lose a few pounds myself, so I can't demand from someone something I'm not.

I think "healthy" is good. and anorexic girls with big boobs isnt the fad and never was. in fact you might find it the exception to see a model with implants.

check cover models lately. Fashion is moving towards what real women look like.

The article is from a Philadelphia news report, which I hope doesn't mean these are popular in Philadelphia. Not exactly what I want to see at the beach this summer at the Jersey Shore.

I hate it when people say something and then act like there is some hidden meaning in what they say in order to try and make you look wrong.

And yes, skinny girls with big fake tits IS the fad. You should try turning on your tv once in a while.

Your comment was a direct contradiction to mine (you practically quoted me),so acting like I misundertood your comment only makes you look like an idiot.

On top of that I offer some evidence to back up my statement to which you start to cry and quickly flame me about not understanding your contradiction to my first statement.

In conclusion you are the one who needs to learn how to express yourself and not directly contradict someone and then act like you are talking about something else. Maybe next time you will be smart enough not to practically quote someone and then say your comment has nothing to do with theirs.

yea. your "evidence" is non-existent. "PWNGAE" where? by you? no.
Stop making posts just to try and flame people. You run your moronic mouth trying to prove points that dont exist. Now go ahead and make another one of those posts so you can have the last word. Im done.

'Fashion' is another key word for 'what Hollywood wants you to buy/buy into.' And as such is about as far from 'reality' as Sonic the Hedgehog.
The big tv news now is Friends being cancelled. The core concept, at the beginning, was these six twentysomething unemployed/barely employed people, who allegedly lived in an NY apartment that would cost millions of dollars.
And maybe I'm unstylish, but whenever I do see pictures of 'fashion models' on the runway advertising their wares, most of the styles, imho, are horrendously ugly.
Just because they want you to buy it, doesn't mean you have to--just because it's being publicized, doesn't mean it's representative of reality.
And I personally tend to avoid 'fads', since by definition they're usually shortlived, bandwagon type phenomena.
And again, since obviously everyone here is so focused on the 'beauty ideal' of a skeletal frame, post some pics of yourselves and show us you're not a hypocrite, which to me is worse than being "grossly overweight" or "anorexic" for that matter.

At what point does a thong stop being string to become as a jump-rope? It may take a moment to think about that one....

the problem seems to be that yall consider "plus-sized" to be the same as terribly overweight. Women dont have to be 300 lbs to be "plus-sized"

also there is a difference in saying some Plus-Sized chicks are hot and saying that all Fat chicks are hot.. whoever disagrees is a dumbass..

I think you're being too skeptical. I honestly like girls that have enough weight on them, but if I see any skinny girls on the internet or whatever, they're not that skinny.
